**Item #:** SCP-8175
**Object Class:** Euclid
**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-8175 is to be locked in a 3m x 3m white room, placed horizontally on an easel that is 1.5 meters tall at Site-██. The observation window for the containment chamber should be a one-way mirror, allowing personnel to see inside the containment chamber and preventing SCP-8175 from seeing them (this is a safety precaution). Only researchers with level 3 clearance or higher are permitted to enter this room. In the scenario that personnel need to enter the chamber, whether for adjustment purposes or measurements, personnel will need to wear sunglasses from the //Ray-Ban's// or //Oakley// brands. These seem to be safe choices for SCP-8175, and should be worn at all times when in view of the object.
**Description:** SCP-8175 is a standard 24x30 canvas displaying an abstract art piece by artist [DATA EXPUNGED] titled "Waves of Life." The painting pictures colors in tight waves from the bottom right corner that loosen as they near the top left corner. The colors of the waves alternate in a pattern consisting of blue, green, red, pink, grey, and purple. This pattern is repeated on the entirety of the canvas.
SCP-8175 exhibits and maintains an affinity for sunglasses it considers "stylish" or "trendy," despite seemingly having no knowledge of current fashion trends. To present SCP-8175 with a pair of sunglasses, they must be modeled by Class-D personnel. When SCP-8175 is informed that a pair of sunglasses will be modeled for it, it will express its excitement verbally. The voice is one of a British male, estimated to be in his mid to late 20s. Upon seeing the sunglasses on the model, SCP-8175 will do one of three things:
1. Observe the sunglasses on the model and respond positively. On one documented instance, it responded with, "You look absolutely ravishing. Do not ever take those off!"
2. Observe the sunglasses on the model and respond negatively. Usually by questioning the model's level of financial responsibility.
3. Observe the sunglasses on the model and respond by producing two appendages that will, with great force, attempt to contort the model so that they match the tight curves on its canvas. SCP-8175 will continue to attempt this until it gives up, the model expires, or it succeeds. In the case of success, a visual of the model, usually a picture of them from their past, will be superimposed onto the painting for up to [REDACTED]. After this period, the visual will fade away, leaving only the original painting to be viewed.[[footnote]] This usually only occurs when the sunglasses look cheaply made, or are of non-standard color. However, it's never completely consistent. [[/footnote]]
SCP-8175 is quite conversational, possessing full awareness and willingness for conversation. It likes to talk about fashion and British politics. How it sees, speaks, or hears is currently unknown.
**Addendum 8175-1:**
Below is a test log for SCP-8175.
On ██/██/████, four Class-D personnel were given different sunglasses to model for SCP-8175. SCP-8175 expressed its excitement by saying, "Oh, jolly. Please, send them in!"
The first Class-D personnel, D-8629, was sent in wearing black sunglasses with blue lenses from the brand //Oakley//. Upon seeing D-8629, SCP-8175 hummed excitedly, saying, "Darling, those look lovely on you! I'd say you keep those on forever, no? They complement your face quite well. Much love to whoever bought those for you. Run along, now. I'd like to see the next model."
The second Class-D, D-10274, was sent in wearing light brown //Gucci// sunglasses with orange lenses. Upon seeing D-10274, SCP-8175 scoffed and expressed its distaste for the sunglasses, stating, "Whoever bought those for you, really doesn't like you. They bought you light brown sunglasses. Who does that?"
The third Class-D, D-11924, was sent in wearing a pair of cheap, oversized, plastic sunglasses. Upon seeing D-11924, SCP-8175 grumbled angrily, produced two appendages and began contorting D-11924. After about 30 minutes, SCP-8175 was successful, and D-11924 was absorbed into the painting. A photo, presumably of D-11924 as an infant, was superimposed onto the painting.
The final Class-D, D-11288, was sent in wearing no sunglasses. Seeing D-11288 considerably aggravated SCP-8175, and SCP-8175 proceeded to [DATA EXPUNGED]. D-11288 was left with multiple injuries but has since made a full recovery, much to the slight dismay of SCP-8175.

**Audio Log from Interview 8175-1:**
**Interviewer: Dr. ███████
Interviewed: SCP-8175**
> **[BEGIN LOG]**
> **███████:** This is Dr. ███████ interviewing SCP-8175. The date is 16 October 2023. SCP-8175, please confirm that you find my sunglasses acceptable.
> **SCP-8175:** I do. I absolutely adore them on you.
> **███████:** Great. I have a few questions to ask you, is that alright?
> **SCP-8175:** I don't see why not. As long as you stay in front of me, darling. You're absolutely stunning.
> **███████:** Perfect, thank you. Um, firstly, can you describe where you are?
> **SCP-8175:** Hm. It appears to be a white room with a mirror in the corner. There's a door to the left of me, and that's how you got in here.
> **███████:** That... is accurate. So... you are able to see your surroundings?
> **SCP-8175:** Yes. Being the way I am, I have to be able to see everything. How else am I meant to be a judge of style if I can't see everyone around me?
> **███████:** Interesting. Do you have any idea how you... came into fruition? Or how you were created?
> //SCP-8175 laughs.//
> **SCP-8175:** Well... paintbrushes, presumably. I am a painting.
> **███████:** You're aware that you're a painting?
> **SCP-8175:** Yes, and quite aware at that. Just look at how gorgeous and colorful I am.
> **███████:** I see. What can you tell us about [REDACTED], the artist who painted you?
> **SCP-8175:** Oh, yes, [REDACTED]. Good God, what a blighter he was. Lord knows he had his issues, his fashion being one of them. Horrible taste in... everything, really. He was so... gross. He never changed; always covered in paint. One day, I decided I'd had enough of looking at him, so I took matters into my own hands.
> **███████:** I see. Um, do you remember anything else?
> **SCP-8175:** Why, yes, of course! He was quite insufferable once you got to know him. He never stopped talking, he was never satisfied with anything he did, he was... an artist. To give credit where credit is due, he was a perfectionist, and a very hard worker. However, nothing he did was good enough for him. If you ask me, that's not what he should have been focusing on. He should have been focusing on improving his taste in accessories. Not once did that man wear sunglasses. I'm cringing just thinking about him.
> **███████:** We can move on, then. Can you explain what makes you dislike a pair of sunglasses, thus prompting you to attempt to kill the person wearing them?
> **SCP-8175:** Oh, darling. My expertise will make me like or dislike a pair of sunglasses. And I don't try to kill them, I just attempt to shape them into a form where they'll be... more useful.
> **███████:** And that includes contorting them unnaturally to the point of death?
> **SCP-8175:** You see, darling, when I see a pair of bad sunglasses, I will question that person's choices but I couldn't care less about what happens to them. However, when I see a pair of sunglasses that is so terribly ugly that it makes the person wearing them seem like a lost cause, that's when I take matters into my own hands.
> **███████:** Understood. Um, how are you able to see?
> **SCP-8175:** With my eyes.
> **███████:** You don't appear to have eyes.
> **SCP-8175:** You can't see them?
> **███████:** No.
> **SCP-8175:** Oh. That's upsetting. I didn't realize nobody could see them.
> **███████:** Are you able to see them?
> **SCP-8175:** I believe I can faintly see them when I look in that mirror, yes.
> //Dr. ███████ looks behind him into the mirror to see if he can spot any eyes.//
> **███████:** I believe that I am unable to see them at all. No matter where I look.
> **SCP-8175:** Well, if you care to know, I have great eyes, if I do say so myself.
> //Dr. ███████ laughs.//
> **███████:** I'll take your word for it. Well, that's all the questions I have for you today. Thank you for your cooperation.
> **SCP-8175:** My pleasure, darling.
