SCP-8744 must observe an individual, even if only a glance or a single cell, to transfigure into them. Once SCP-8744 has successfully transformed into a specific individual or anomaly, it can re-transfigure into that form at will. Upon a containment breach, SCP-8744 will actively seek out any human it has previously seen, consuming even a drop of their blood, which allows it to perfectly replicate their appearance.
SCP-8744 is capable of speech and can answer questions, following instructions given to it. However, this compliance is contingent upon avoiding contact with purified water. If SCP-8744 comes into contact with purified water, the areas touched will split at the cellular level away from the rest of SCP-8744, initiating an extremely accelerated process of cell division. This results in the creation of new entities designated SCP-8744-1. If SCP-8744 or any SCP-8744-1 instance remains in contact with purified water, it will continue to break down and generate additional SCP-8744-1 entities.
