**Item #**: SCP-8116
**Object class**: Keter
**special containment procedures**:
SCP-8116 are to be contained in their natural forested habitat, surrounded by a 50m x 50m x 20m concrete wall with exterior steel reinforcements within Site-23. weekly checks on the walls integrity, or any signs of physical damage are mandatory. each corner of the perimeter are to be equipped with an armoury, containing 12 tranquiliser guns and at minimum 180 tranquilising darts . There are to be absolutely no laser detectors within the habitat under any circumstance. Outside each of the 4 entrances to the habitat there are to be 6 armed personnel per entrance at all times. All SCP-8116 instances are to be fitted with an implant to monitor their blood's adrenaline and cortisol levels, if any implant appears to be inactive, 4 armed personnel are to tranquilise the SCP instance and a scientist is to fit a new implant onto the entity immediately.
**Description**:
caption=Acrocanthosaurus Atokensis skull fossil |width=250px
SCP-8116 are a species of Carcharodontosauridae, near indistinguishable from the reconstructions modern humans have of the Acrocanthosaurus Atokensis in terms of physical attributes. However, this species boast a larger size and bite force among a number of anomalous qualities. The species are imposing therapod predators reaching 5-7 metres at the hip and 13-14 metres in length, the species also share the towering neuro spine structures that run along the creatures back like a sail, seen in modern reconstructions of Carcharodontosauridae, though not to the extent of the Spinosaurids.
caption= Acrocanthosaurus Atokensis fossil|width=200px
The creatures teeth are razor sharp and have been recorded to reach the size of a human forearm at the largest, with incredibly small serrations which grant the creatures the ability to slice through flesh and bone alike.
The species also boast incredibly thick and resilient skin, completely unseen in modern fauna able to withstand incredible physical impact and projectile weapons. The creatures also have been observed to have incredibly large and sharp claws on both their hands and their feet, with the claws making up 17% of the feet's total surface area, as for the forelimbs, they are smaller in size to the feet but possess the same size ratio as the feet do with each digit having 8 inch claws able to disembowel anything with a single swipe.
The extent of SCP-8116's anomalous capabilities are still not certain however, the species host a widely diverse set of qualities that are primarily centred around the creatures adrenaline and cortisol levels in the blood. While the presence of dinosaurs in the modern day are not unseen by the foundation, SCP-8116 are unique in their ability to control and manipulate their adrenaline levels at a level impossible for any other animal species in recorded history.
SCP-8116 individuals are incredibly powerful as they stand with extensive muscle mass and high bone density but their true strength lies in their adrenal glands. SCP-8116 instances are able to contort their body's in such a way that provides increasing amounts of protection from physical impacts on top of their naturally thick hides rendering them indestructible however, in this state they also put pressure on their adrenal glands which causes their cortisol and adrenaline levels to spike when hit or injured, resulting in volatile mood swings, an unprecedented increase in physical strength and pain tolerance and a violent rampage.

The adrenaline boost in their blood makes them become uncharacteristically angry and they have been observed to let out a fearsome roar once the adrenaline takes over their system. The instance that is in this state will begin to glow a blazing red colour between the cracks in their skin and on certain nodules present on their spine. At this point the SCP-8116 instance is an unstoppable force and it will kill anything that moves within its warpath.
The adrenaline seems to be incredibly concentrated in comparison to other living species, samples extracted from a dead instance's adrenal glands show that the concentration of this species adrenaline is approximately 13 times more potent than pure epinephrine which provides this species with unmatched strength allowing them to easily tear down trees and even destroy stone near effortlessly, though they are yet to cause any lasting damage to their enclosure walls. The species' incredible hunting intelligence have led them to use their feet while under the effects of the adrenaline to powerfully stomp on other animals, especially ones with with tougher shells to bust them open or even to pin down larger animals to more easily consume them.

documented speeds that this species can reach vary from anywhere from 20mph to up to 47mph though this is dependant on the instances temperament and age with the calm entities reaching higher speeds and the opposite with the more volatile individuals relying on adrenaline to keep up with the faster instances.
Observations indicate that this species are also incredibly dependant on their adrenal glands. Testing on younger instances has revealed that SCP-8116 instances that are born with an adrenaline immunity cannot live more than 2 weeks without supplemental doses of adrenaline.
**Addendum 1**: Feeding behaviours and dietary requirements
Due to their gargantuan size, adult instances of SCP-8116 have a daily caloric intake of over 48500 calories per day. Adult instances have been noted to allow their young to eat first after a successful hunt. To maintain comfort for the species, Foundation personnel release both captive animals and raw meat to provide mental stimulation and food for the species, such as large wild boar, elephants, buffalo among other larger bovine species as well as large chunks of raw beef which are automatically dispensed from designated feeding platforms within the habitat. Any instance of SCP-8116 that has not meet its daily caloric requirement have been shown to get incredibly aggressive, more so than other animal species would when hungry. The extent of this aggression is not yet fully explored however. Further research required.
**Addendum 2**: Colour palette theory
The species colour palette varies based on their environment and temperament, with the more well mannered and calm instances of SCP-8116 having lighter, pastel colours such as light tones of: grey, pink, blue and indigo while the more ill-tempered instances posses deeper, more intense shades of: black, grey, white, black, red, green, purple, blue and orange. Further research denotes that these characteristics are not acquired at birth like one may assume but are instead changed as they reach sexual maturity. Their skins colour and tones are subject to change at this time and adjust to their personality. Researchers have surmised that this is due to the concentration of the adrenaline in the creatures blood, which if in higher quantities results more intense hues.
**Addendum 3**: [SCP-3718] Interactions and Competition
[SCP-3718] are a species of feral cat known as 'Mewlers'. These entities are incredibly resilient and ferocious carnivorous predators, able to take down larger animals with ease. They are also incredibly invasive and damaging to the North American ecosystem's wildlife populations. These creatures can only be seen in reflective surfaces which render them difficult to exterminate by regular means. However, SCP-8116 are seemingly able to see these creatures naturally due to a thin lining over their eyes, reflecting images in their peripheral vision. This means that SCP-8116 are actually able to hunt these anomalies with incredible success and due to their clever self shielding hunting tactic to force the release of adrenaline, the Foundation have not yet observed any evidence of an [SCP-3718] entity killing an instance of SCP-8116.
**Addendum 4**: The "Savage Acrocanthosaurus" theory
Through the Foundations efforts to contain this species in their natural habitat, many theories arose pondering the origin of the species due to the discovery of a particularly large instance of SCP-8116. This specific entity, designated SCP-8116-1 shows distinct signs of aging beyond all recorded instances of the species thus far. SCP-8116-1 is a male member of the species that has a height of 8.5m at the hip and is 16.7 metres long, much taller than even the largest recorded instances. His age is not entirely certain due to his incredible strength preventing any DNA analysis or physical inspection, however he is estimated to be as old as 2.5 million years old with his appearance showing he has lived through many phases of human evolution. Due to this, the Foundation have reason to believe that this instance is the first of the SCP-8116 species. He possesses a different pattern to the others that have been observed and the other creatures smaller size to him are likely a result of the lesser food supply as the species evolved. Possible methods of subduing SCP-8116-1 are under investigation, though it has been deemed unlikely to yield promising results due to the creatures impressive physical ability and strength.

**SCP-8116-1**: The "Savage Acrocanthosaurus" Research notes
SCP-8116-1 is a larger and more aggressive male instance of SCP-8116 that displays multiple signs of incredibly old age. Despite this,SCP-8116-1 seems to be in perfect health and shows no signs of senescence.
However, SCP-8116-1's body is riddled with scars and battle injuries including a missing left eye, exposed gums and teeth due to lost skin and multiple weapons protruding from his skin. These weapons provide very useful insight into the creatures age and origins as a species. The weapons present on SCP-8116-1 range from primitive hatchets, feathered arrows and obsidian spearheads all the way to metal weapons like pikes and spear bolts. This implies that this specimen is over 2.5 million years of age in theory. The creatures resilient hide and unstable temperament mean that foundation personnel have no current way of studying the entity or the weapons embedded into its skin as of yet. Further analysis underway.

Additionally, SCP-8116-1 is much larger than even the largest of instances observed as of yet. (see Addendum 4 ). SCP-8116-1 seems to take the role of the "alpha" in the species hierarchy mostly due to his age and physical fitness, and he is to be treated as such by other members of the species, being allowed to mate with any female he sees fit and being able to eat whatever he pleases etc. While the social structure of this species is not as complex as many other animals it is still a noteworthy fact that may give insight into future research.

oh wait did i make a mistake? what am i supposed to put instead of public domain ? i thought it was the image licenses i was putting public domain for, is that wrong ?
https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-16881734/scp-8116#post-6560730 (reply to comment, "none of these images are public domain. hell, some of them are screenshots from ark.")
yeah, they are screenshots from ark. did you read the article at all? the images i used were from curseforge's mod page on the acro, the acro showcase video by DarkEdgeTV SURVIVAL and an old archived image i found on reddit. but i was unable to find any evidence to suggest they werent Public Domain so i went with that. Feel free to tell me what to actually put for them and read the article to know why i used ark screenshots, thanks for the feedback.
Their other comments also don't match the typing style of the article:

which ones dont have source links ? i just re-added all of them for the new images?
oh wait my apologies i accidentally made a mistake correcting the sourcelink for one image, theyll be back in a moment
yeah there, all fixed. just a technical issue on my part
