SCP-8944 is contained in a 10-kilometer radius in the remote ████████ Forest. A fence has been put up around the radius of the area to prevent anomalous activity around the place. MTF Gamma-4 is assigned to patrol the perimeter of the forest to prevent unwanted victims.

Description
SCP-8944 is a dense forest with towering trees, their bark etched with cryptic and creepy symbols. The forest emits a constant susurrus—a soft, haunting whisper that seems to emanate from the very leaves and branches. These whispers are audible to anyone within the forest, but their meaning remains elusive. The trees whisper in a way that the test subject forgets what they told them when they try to tell anyone else, but when the subject is alone, what the trees told them haunts them for the rest of their lifetime. The whispers are known to drive people insane, some test subjects are found dead inside the forest once they are retrieved, some survive but are never the same. Pictures of the forest were never retrieved but were attempted in Exploration Log 8944 Beta. Once back, the test subject would forget how the trees appeared but would never forget their whispers.

Exploration Logs
Exploration Log 8944-Alpha: D-3478, equipped with a voice recorder, entered the forest. Once his dead body was found, transmissions of barely legible words were decoded by the Foundation, which revealed the trees discussing containment breaches and foundation personnel. It is unknown how the test subject killed himself but the Foundation suspects it was related to the trees.
Exploration Log 8944-Beta: Dr. ██████ ventured into SCP-9999 with recording equipment. He was equipped with a camera, a voice recorder and a knife. He managed to transmit the voice recordings back, but his final transmission consisted of garbled whispers growing louder combined with the Dr. exclaiming " Have mercy! Have mercy you earthy wretc- AAHHHH". This could possibly be concrete evidence that the trees are the murderers but the theory that he was driven insane is still not disproved. His body was found weeks later, suspended in midair on the branches.

Addendum
SCP-8944 remains a perplexing anomaly. Its purpose, origin, and connection to other SCPs remain subjects of ongoing research. It could have been created naturally or could have been man made.The forest’s whispers continue to haunt those who seek its secrets.
