Based on an entry made yesterday on the mainlist by another user. Got deleted instantly, and most likely will be again, but I found it so funny that I had to preserve it somehow XD

Note that I only altered the original concept and that it does differ from the original somewhat. Kudos to the original author, whose name I was stupid enough not to check!

It was brought to attention by Licensing staff, stating:

[the user] admitted to performing plagiarism of another deleted article which they "found funny" and placed it in a -J slot rather than a mainlist. It is my opinion that this is not only rather shitty, but also falls under the plagiarism jurisdiction of our site rules.

Noting that I received the following PM

I want to detail the circumstances of my posting of SCP-8238-J: When I read the original SCP-8238, it was already in the -3 to -5 downvote area, due to many SPaG errors and lack of a format; so I waited for a staff member to announce deletion of the page, so that I could get my hands on a rewrite. However, it got deleted within the first hour or so, most likely because of the aforementioned issues and generally poor quality.

Before the deletion, I was able to see in the history section who the creator of the page was; my memory is foggy, and I didn't bother prematurely writing the user's name down, due to the reasons stated above, but I remember the user's name ending with the word "Grand", as I based SCP-8238-J's last name on it.

This is not supposed to be an appeal to my site revokation (as I will reapply after the 24 hours have elapsed), but an appeal to keep SCP-8238-J, if I am able to give proper credit to the original author or perhaps even without being able to find the original author.

I recommend getting the opinion of a Licensing Team staff member before proceeding with working on the piece further. You can ask by posting a thread in the Policy and/or Questions Desk forum, when you rejoin the SCP wiki.
