New site member Kaitey (account age 2 days, site membership 1 day) recently spammed three low-quality pages to the mainsite:

1889, April 8th 3008 incident
THIS IS A STORY BASED ON THE SCP 3008
-PROLOGUE-
The sound of feet hitting the ground was very much evident within this empty place, echoing loudly, survival here was easier than others, and quite ideal. I mean it IS a store that seems to go on forever, perhaps a perfect place to thrive. It's endless in supplies, walls that seem to go on forever, but even then, the night was unholy.. These footsteps began to slow, as she took a breath, finally making it to the place they now call their home. “Rose, did you get the supplies?” Katya asked, looking down the vast shelves. “I was able to find some more pallets to build the shelter from over… '' Rose paused her words, afar the outline of someone was evident “Employees…” She grumbled. Those bitter words held harsh history in them. Shuddering and sighing, “But we need food.” Rose added softly, remembering past events. “You guys! I found some lights and material that could be used to add to our shelter… aaaand! Dun dun dun! Some food too!” Majelia was here now, joyously smiling at her findings, Katya reflected on the items Majelia brought back with her, nodding her head: “Come up the ladder, night will be dawning on us soon, we should prepare as soon as possible, you know what lurks during the night…” Rose moved the ladder to get up the metal racks, turning her head back to glance at figure, shuddering once more.
Upon receiving downvotes and deletion timers on the first two pages, and comments on the third page indicating that it should not be an SCP but rather a tale, they responded:
Reader comments:
First off, if this is a story based on an existing SCP, it should be a Tale, not an SCP entry. Additionally… |
Your first sentence is a run-on, as you change subjects from "the sound of feet hitting the ground" (Very odd to not just use the word "footsteps", as well) to "survival". You then change verb tense between the first and second sentences, as your use of "was" in the first sentence is past-tense, and the verb "is" in the second sentence is present-tense. |
Also I see that this was posted less than 6 hours after your previous attempt at an SCP. I am going to give you some advice: SLOW. DOWN. The wiki is not going anywhere, and rushed work will fail. Take your time, proofread your work, utilize the critique resources we have, and post something that's actually polished. If you continue this pattern, you will continue to be met with deleted articles. |
We want writers to succeed on the wiki, but this is not how to do that. |
Seconding this. Slow down and take a minute to read some of the onsite writing resources and look at the forums. |

Reader comment:First off, I've been working on this story for over a year. There are multiple chapters to it, and this is only a tiny sliver. Second of all, this is the third time you've seen, disliked, and commented on my posts. Third of all, it doesn't really feel good to have a story I've been working on for over a year be criticized and "disliked." Personally, everyone I have asked has said it's really good. I have posed on many platforms, and many people have liked the "tale." But apparently, it isn't "good enough" for you. So yeah, I get that I'm going pretty fast, but for this one? No. I've been writing it for over a year now. This website has some very critical people.
Are the people you've asked actually familiar with SCP and how the site works? We hear this a lot, people get friends and family to look at their work, and they have no idea what the site's standards are, and will often hold back on criticism to spare the writer's feelings. |
And yes, we have a lot of very critical people. We have a whole critique process, and a voting system. |

Reader comment:Unless you're stalking my account, you must be sitting at home all day scrolling through the SCP foundation. Yes, the people I asked are involved in the foundation. Oh, and based on your profile, you seem to criticize people's work a lot. There is no way you have time to do anything but scroll through this website all day when you seem to know exactly when I post. It's honestly very concerning. Leave me ALONE.
I'm not stalking you in any way, shape, or form. In fact, just by looking at my profile, you've already spent more time looking into me than I have into you. |
I work in IT so I am at a computer basically all day, and I browse SCP, mostly the recently posted pages, during the day. I don't know when YOU post, I know when new pages are posted, because the New Pages list gets updated. And it's easy to see when the pages are posted, because they're timestamped. But I will be respectful to your wishes, and this will be the last comment I will leave on anything you post. But I will continue to exercise my right to vote on anything and everything posted to the wiki. |
