As recently discussed, the SCP wiki has agreed to a full ban of AI-generated images and text. This rule has been recorded in the site rules, and at the time of writing is currently part of the site passcode. That being said, we still regularly see the posting of clearly AI-generated content by users with no clear set of actions to take in response on the part of staff. Following a brief discussion in staffcord, I would like to propose the following-
Users who post AI-generated content to the SCP wiki will receive a weeklong ban on their first offense, and a permanent ban on the second.
The reason for this strict action is due in part to the licensing issues associated with AI-generation, alongside the fact that this is a rule mentioned directly in the site passcode to which users cannot claim ignorance of.
This thread is created with the intention of discussing this with the whole of staff and formally codifying this approach moving forward, so that administrators may act on these bans without need for extra discussion in staffchat.
This discussion is open to all members of staff, and will last for one week.
