Grym talking about the French TransAtlanteam's Archives brings me to an idea which I'd like to propose:
To create an International Translation Archive, to contain translations from any original content from any branch into English - without any pressure of time and without the necessity to deliver perfect translations.
It would be a place where authors and translators which are not perfectly fluent in English can store translations of their or their branches users work, so it can be corrected by more fluent English-speakers, criticized by a wider audience and where it can be easily found and used as resource for translation in another language.
Every branch (including EN) would get the opportunity to create an own hub they can manage as they like, if they want to. If unofficial branches can participate would be matter of discussion.
Every participating branch can delegate people to become staff.
There would be no requirement to deliver X translations in time Y. Everyone can take the time they need, translate what they want, in the quality they can.
This project would be independent, yet no branch itself. It would be a subsidiary of all participating branches. And it would be a preparation and a prototype for the INT-Hub - or it will become the INT-Hub, who knows.
I'd like to know if other branches would participate, and if the EN-staff would support such a project.
As I'm having a little experience in creating Wikidot-wikis I volunteer to set this up.
