There has been some interest expressed in the creation of a screen between new users and the main list. Basically, it would be somewhat like the current contest, but for all new submissions. Users would post to a central location, where they would be voted on, reviewed, and then promoted or deleted as needed. It could also go in waves, with a promotion/deletion drive every week or two.
It seems like a interesting ideas, and would certainly make it easy to see all the new stuff at once, but still, how do people feel? it would take time to develop and implement, and may involve some backlash, but would make it very easy to isolate and nip new submissions that may not make the grade.
What are your thoughts? Is this a possibility, or just a interesting idea. I'd love to hear arguments for and against, along with any ideas for the form a "screen" should take.
