I've been indulging LBD for a while now, mainly because he's been on the receiving end of abuse…but it's looking more and more as if he's calling it down on himself. is there a log of whatever happened this time?
I'm not at my computer to produce the logs, but if it's still not here by the time I get home, I'll post them.

Fuck him. I'm with Kon on this one. If someone is this much of a pain in the ass, even so everyone is getting sick of it, then Kon's way is the right way.
I'm almost tempted to make an example of him to shut up those the other folks who follow in LBD's footsteps.
Also, people who pretend to be the victim, or pull it down on themselves, really pisses me off. Like, stabbing my neighbors kind of pissed off.
We made it completely and utterly clear that this is his last chance. If he's even a hair out of line from now on, he gets the boot from both the wiki and the chat.
For now, though, he's unbanned.

You know, I've read the logs for this and such, and it wasn't all that bad.
I mean, at first everyone was all like "shit goddamn, you just deleted all these things WTF?", which if he had, would have been way outta line. But he didn't. He just turned the title to [title]:deleted, and was really just doing some hardcore trolling to the chat.
When I read through the complete log, I have to admit, I laughed.
So… I'm not sure.
I'm fairly sure he did it cause he was pissed off, but there wasn't any actual damage apart from a few people freaking out.

I don't mind pranks: hell, I'm the guy who did the whole April 1 thing, but that was done in a spirit of fun, not maliciously, and certainly not to prove some holier-than-thou point. I just have to say that I am extremely leery about having a mod who would abuse those powers to do so.

As it was done with negative intent in mind, regardless of the results and consequences that occurred because of it, I'm going to say it was a bad thing to do, and that Fish's revoking of Mod powers because of it were well founded.
But…
Because I'm a soft hearted bastard, I like to believe in second chances. So, I'd like to vote that Fish gets to keep Mod powers for the time being, until he proves that he is either worthy or unworthy of them.

If we'd had defined site rules on what gets you permabanned and doesn't, or if we'd given him an official final warning on high from before, I'd permaban him right now. As far as I can tell, neither happened. Both have happened now.

I'm getting tired of seeing LBD do things like this. Worse yet, he's still acting like the victim and asking us to list what he's done wrong when we've done so -at least- twice before.
He really should've been banned for good last time.
Hate to say it, but me too. We gave him a chance to redo it, and he blew it harder than ever.
Okay, bear in mind that I am completely tone-deaf when it comes to social interaction, so I'm probably just missing something, but when I read the log, it didn't seem that bad. Goodness knows I have a hard time realizing when I upset people (and, more importantly, why) unless someone explains what I did wrong with precision and clarity.
Granted, he did try to argue that Able crosses the Able line, but Able is the line for a reason, so I could see where he was coming from, even if I don't agree. And heck, I've written just one SCP entry and barely show up in the chat and yet I'm a mod for some reason, so I can understand if some people get confused about their chances of attaining power.
That log in itself is not the best example. You're completely right, he didn't do anything overtly wrong other than demonstrate his idiocy.
The real problem is that he blames the stupid things he does on us. No, I'm not even making that up. In his mind, the problem isn't himself, but the moderators and other users for not telling him that what he does is stupid. That argument might be more valid if it weren't for the fact that we have told him, on more than one occasion. It's the fact that he refuses to take any responsibility for what he does that bothers me.
As far as I see it, it is not the job of the moderation (or any user, for that matter) to babysit one person and make sure he doesn't do something idiotic. Maybe I am jaded, I don't know, but personally there is only so much I can take before I get convinced that a person is dead weight and needs to be cut loose. It may be harsh, but I can back up this opinion with past experience that justifies my course of action.
I feel bad for the kid but he just doesn't seem to get it. Honestly, it's to the point where it's like we are dealing with a five year old.

Unofrtunately, I'm about to leave for a wedding so I can't say anything more than that right now. I will certainly elaborate on this more when I get home though, so please bear with me for the time being.

I can't speak for what he's done on the wiki but I will say that from what I have seen in the chat, he is completely hopeless. A lost cause. Having dealt with many people like LBD in the past, I can say with certainty that it is easier to just remove him than trying to rehabilitate him or teach him anything. The effort is wasted on him, it goes in one ear and out the other. All of the chances to succeed that he's been given are completely meaningless to him, because in his mind he's never done a damned thing wrong.
In my experience, when you have such a person it's best to just cut your losses and send them on their way. It's harsh, but ultimately it saves you from a lot of headaches.
I think the thing that speaks the most about this is that Rights has decried him.
Therefor, I put it to a vote. Should we ban LBD from the site and chat?

Huge yes to banning him from the chat, no on banned from the site, as I am unaware of him actually breaking any rules there.
I attempt to be as lawful Neutral/True Neutral as possible, however please forgive me if I laps from that stance…
I want LBD to be good. I really do. He has good ideas from time to time, and he's generally pretty excited and motivated.
Unfortunately, Waxx has it EXACTLY right: LBD is a five year old. He gets super-excited, and goes off running…then when he's told that he went the wrong way, he throws a tantrum.
"But the other kids went this way, why am i wrong to do it too?"
"They are older then you, and know how not to trip or get hurt."
"But that's not FAIR! I did it just the same way, I should be able to too!"
"You're not ready yet."
"YES I AM! I am too, you're just being mean!"
With some minor tweaking, this is 9/10ths of the arguments I've seen/gotten in to with LBD. He refuses to grow, harps on a concept over and over even when told that it's flawed, flips out over criticism, and loves to whip up passive-aggressive arguments.
What's more, he does all this while dancing just outside the line of major offense. He even says several times that he is able to be annoying without being banned. He's like a rules lawyer in D&D: smug and secure behind what he feels is a knowledge of the rules so iron-clad that he's untouchable.
In addition, he wields power over Fieldwork like a childish god. He also mary-sues the hell out of himself, alters other players back story, expects everyone to love every campaign he runs, and is generally annoying to say the least. This, coupled with his often stated desire for mod-ship, scares and angers me.
I say a full Ban. I will support a chat ban happily, but i would support a full site ban as well. He constantly says "but i'm not annoying enough to ban!", but i beg to differ.
Sorry, but this has been brewing for a while. Thank you for indulging my little break-down.
I feel I should note that the whole thing that catalyzed my impassioned "this site is run on awesome" speech was a comment by LBD that he will eventually be, and this is a direct quote, "mod by attrition." THAT sure is the right attitude.
LBD was banninated from chat. Let's review his behavior in a month or so.

Well, it's Ireland. Not everywhere I go has a computer that has internet access. And I have to leave sometimes…
LBD is now back, it seems. I vaguely recall him messaging me, asking about his ban, and I unfortunately think i never responded. In any event, he is back, and making the rounds of the edit list.
This frightens me.
Please help me in keeping a goddamn eye on him, and make sure that he's learned his lesson. Looking over some of his comments and entries, I'm worried about his involvement.
I try to remain free from bias, be understanding to others who's views may not match up with mine, and generally attempt to be, if not kind, at least civil. However, after seeing LBD godmod and mary sue all over the RP chat, alter other people's back stories to include himself, attempt to steadily increase his importance despite multiple and forceful denials, and gender swap a random, my patience was severely strained.
However, when I logged on to find a chat log with a subtitle "The saga of the Pink-Haired Girl", I realized that LBD and I will not be getting along very well.

I agree as well. it's not as if he's a rampant dick with fantastic contributions to back him up, like Fish (sorry Fish, it's true). He's also not a great guy to work with and talk to, who just has issues writing entries. He is constantly childish, passive-aggressive, appears to have a persecution complex, and many times will throw tantrums when denied. What's more, he very rarely produces anything of real quality.
