Welcome, everyone with an opinion on what the words at the bottom of each SCP article should be!
In our previous Discussion, there was a difference on opinion on what the best tag system for animals should be, so I'm presenting two systems below. I will be counting up the responses to decide what to go with, on the assumption that I'll get a representative sample of the small number of people who actually care about this. This is not a policy vote, and so I will be counting responses from both Staff and Non-Staff. Definitions, as listed in the Animal section of SCP attributes, would be unchanged. Scroll to the bottom for the ballot to copy paste.
I have decided to call this the Noun System and the Adjective System - while there is a full list in the collapsible, I'm basically just asking you whether bee or bee-like is the better tag name for the "SCP is or exhibits traits of apian or bee-like animals" definiton. I think either system would be more intuitive than our current use of obscure terminology - I have not problems with canine or feline, but ophidian and leporine seem unnecessarily obtuse (even to me, a total nerd), and I'd prefer to make the system consistent and convert all of these at once, rather than debating whether each new tag should be porcine, pig or pig-like.
For the broader categories using scientific names, I feel that using a noun form is the simplest approach (many of these can be used as adjectives anyway), to avoid unnecessary complexity. I would prefer if we did not create too many more of these in future, and stuck to taxonomical groupings that are widely understood. Admittedly, I have recently applied for a "crustacean" tag, which is at least as confusing as arachnid (in terms of unexpected things in the category), but that's only because it's an improvement over "arthropod".
Anyway, vote below, I will tally up the responses on the assumption that this is a representative sample of the people that care. Since there are three options I will be using ranked choice voting, put 1 in the box for your favourite and 2 for your runner up, the option you'd prefer if 1 doesn't win. If there's not a majority, I'll eliminate the least popular option and tally up the second place votes. Put 3 if you want, but it's equivalent to an empty box.

If you have alternative suggestions let me know in your own comment, but I would rather not have too many exceptions to the system, a mix of multiple systems would be much more confusing than just picking one option. If I do get a large number of demands to keep cetacean and lepidopteran, or whatever, I will reluctantly concede. I can see the arguement for keeping canine, feline, bovine and simian, but the other terms just don't seem widely recognised enough and have an equivalent term in plain English.
I'll leave this poll open for a week:
