The following are retroactive reports regarding the actions of Cyvstvi, Calibri Bold, and Pedagon who received complaints regarding their decorum as staff during the "ES Incident" on November 13, 2021, when multiple users entered the ES discord. These users were members of Junior Staff during the time of this incident. Since then, some have left staff, and others have become full staff.
additionally, due to drastic misinformation at the time of this complaint's submission, disorganized nature of our disc reporting at the time, and general hecticness of the time, this was never recorded to O5 or communicated to ES leadership, so we are seeking to correct this by making this information public now.
On the date specified above, in an English-language public discord channel devoted to discussing staff and its processes, a heated discussion took place surrounding the ES branch and its rules around the removal of certain elements of translations they create, specifically the removal of pride logos. Many users involved were strongly against this rule, and in protest, went to the ES wiki's public server under a misunderstood request from an INT representative to direct complaints to ES staff. The actual request was for the individuals with concerns to contact ES staff members directly.
The users responded by writing messages in support of removing this rule with varying degrees of civility. The server regarded this as a raid and submitted a complaint to EN staff, who promptly investigated the concern. After discussion, the complaint was determined to be unactionable due to the events taking place in an avenue other then the EN wiki or an EN affiliated social media space, and also due to it not crossing the threshold of being an AHT offence.
Even though Disciplinary did not deem it necessary to enact punishment towards any user who participated in the protest, the staff members who entered the ES public server were addressed directly and indirectly about the incident to insure the actions were not repeated. Even though their actions did not break any rules according to EN's policy, it was felt that it should still be addressed due to our higher standards for how we are represented as a staff team.
Cyvstvi and Calibri Bold were contacted on the 15th of November, 2 days after the incident by Vivarium who was their acting captain. I addressed the concerns of the ES branch and explained the situation. Both staff members recognized their faults and promised not to repeat their actions moving forward. Cyvstvi was, however, removed from the MAST, the EN maintenance team, due to these events. Calibri Bold did not receive any further punishments due to their direct apologies after their actions, but they did willingly retire shortly after the incident for reason unaffiliated with this report. Logs of these events have been shared with members of ES staff for transparency.
Unfortunately, due our formally unorganized system and the strain placed upon EN during the month of November, Pedagon was never directly talked to about these events, so a clear log of events is unobtainable. However, since then Pedagon talked with current administrator aismallard, who says that he recognizes the failings of the events in the ES public server, the weight of those actions, and does not want to repeat it. An additional note is that, in the period soon after this ES discord raid, Pedagon participated in a discussion with aismallard, Rounderhouse, and HarryBlank and discussed possibilities for peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Furthermore, the three staff members mentioned in this report have been approached at the time of its writing, and they have affirmed that the above properly reflects the events from 10 months ago and that they have zero intentions of repeating said actions.
