This denial feels… absurd, honestly? Upholding a permanent ban for what's so obviously a joke, and even one that the user apologised for in their appeal. Like, let's be real for a second - you can argue that this is in poor taste, but it's clearly a joke and not legitimate anti-homeless bigotry. Why even let people appeal if you'll uphold a permanent ban for a single poor taste joke, even when the banned user literally says that they don't intend to do it again, and acknowledges that "It was unnecessary and uncalled for."?

I didn't see this post when it was made since I don't check 05 as regularly anymore. But you're right, upholding the perma was excessive. The user came into 17 today to talk about it again and I have commuted the ban to time served and apologized for overshooting the mark. They caught me at the end of a very long and frustrating day when it happened but that's no excuse. Won't happen again.
