In the previous thread we reached consensus agreement that the charter should include the following:
Consensus or semi-consensus discussion items that should be in the conceptual charter:
- What is the SCP Wiki?
- What are Scp wiki staff?
- What do SCP wiki staff do?
- What Staff are meant to be, the reason for the group's existence, and what their general goals are.
- What is the purpose of what we do?
- How is SCP Wiki staff related to the wiki?
- What is Staff's Relation to the Mainsite?
- What is SCP Staff’s broadest responsibilities?
- How should staffers behave/interact with each other and the community? (Broad level, what they should/should not do)
- What is staff’s community outreach?
- Inclusion of definitions: I will go ahead and make a discussion thread asking for items we think should be defined in the charter following us reaching consensus on this discussion
- Mesearch included a great list of potential topics to cover in the charter’s content, this was generally well received. Attached below.
- The charter should not contain policy. It should be conceptual.
- Conceptual: The What and the Why. The context.
- Policy: The How, When, Where. The mechanics, rules, and guidelines.
- torcsandantlers laid out an early structure for the Charter and the Tree. This requires a separate thread.
- Parenting of the Charter to the central hub of the policy tree.
The next step of discussion is to ask the question: How do we organize the conceptual charter? What should its structure be?
Semantics matter less here than the idea conveyed, so don’t get hung up on the wording. This thread is for raw ideas.
This discussion is open ended, and is looking for suggestions and thoughts. It will last until we have reached a consensus on a unified structure and organization for the Conceptual Charter.
