Discussion thread here.
This is a voting thread for the creation and implementation of "Getting Started Questions" threads. This proposal would create a unified thread or series of threads where new and returning users could request primers, advice, and recommendations based on their interests or skills. It is specifically geared towards users unfamiliar with the current zeitgeist. This would be accompanied by a GSQ FAQ, where frequent requests and their answers would be noted.
Additionally, this thread concerns whether the GSQ Threads, if passed, would be a single thread or multiple ones, based on different types of requests; as well, whether they would exist on a periodical or as-necessary (starting a new one when the last gets too long or policy sufficiently changes). Currently, multiple threads would be divided into "general advice" and "resources & recommendations", and periodical threads would be monthly; this is subject to change at the discretion of the Community Outreach team.
Regardless of the outcome, Intros staffers are not and will not be expected to reply to every post in the current introduction threads.
This vote is open to Junior Staff and above. Please vote on all sections, even if you're voting "no" to the first.
EDIT: Titled edited per Croquembouche's suggestion.
