Hey all,
I know this is really awful timing considering what a busy day it was, but this is something I’ve been thinking about a lot for the past couple of months. I spent the last month or so in sabbatical hoping that would be enough of a break, but it wasn’t.
As many of you know, it’s been challenging keeping up with all of my wikiwork while working full time, and I just got a promotion that includes more work as part of it which compounds that problem. My first priority always has to be irl, and it’s been harder and harder balancing that with SCP. There was a long time period where I read every article posted on the wiki, but I’ve barely read anything in years.
In a few months time I’ll re-evaluate how I’m feeling and if I’m ready to/want to return, but at least for the near future I need a break from SCP.
In case this is a permanent retirement, I just wanted to say that I’m immensely proud of the work I’ve done on this wiki. I reformed and revitalized Internet Outreach from an afterthought with 150,000 collective followers to a juggernaut of over 700,000. I was able to accomplish almost everything I set out to as a part of Licensing, and ensured that knowledge of the license is much more widespread and respected. And most of all I’m proud of the exceptional and hardworking teams who I did this work alongside and without whom I could never have accomplished what I did.
Tsat will be taking over as the new captain of IO, and Stormbreath will take over as the new captain of Rewrite. I have absolute confidence in them both.
Thanks for everything all!
