Putting this in the Non-Disc record as for the moment this note is for records-keeping. That said, the user's immediate jump to "if someone is going to steal my writing, I might as well steal other's writing myself" is admittedly not reassuring.
I received a PM today, with the subject heading "Someone stole my idea."
So I just came across something interesting, SCP-6097 is legitimately a hard-core rip-off of an article I already made and have been reworking.
what is the protocol on someone stealing an idea without permission?
Mine has a lot of extra information and moves locations, and this one states that the water is constantly boiling.. Aside from that, it's literally the exact same as my deleted 6000 entry.. I can gladly send you the link to my sandbox with what I named "the wandering puddle" and you can see how "the pond" has terribly ripped off my idea (intentional or not). like, there both small bodies of water you can't see the body of, and when something enters it by accident, it's essentially swallowed them up never to be seen again..
In conclusion, I hope you can help me get this fixed, because otherwise, I may as well troll the deletion feed and take every idea that comes up before it becomes an official entry.. Just doesn't feel right.. Please let me know if this is an okay thing, because if this thing stands, mine will look like a copy when it's done… Not cool at all.
I responded with "Provide staff with clear examples of either material specific to your draft being taken word-for-word from your material, or excerpts from the work in question that match the conceptualization of your draft." and then asked for specific excerpts of the "literally the exact same as my deleted 6000 entry"
Of note, the user also commented in the discussion thread for 6097 (which is currently in deletion): http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-14141513/scp-6097#post-5025633 the conversation is as follows:

So, besides the boiling part, this is essentially my idea that got bumped out of the 6000 contest, just with way less detail about the inside of it.. Just because you called it a pond instead of a puddle doesn't mean it's not the same thing..

Hi!
I did not see any of your posts as I'm not an active member of the community, and I've had this idea since probably around April. The original draft still exists in my Google Drive, and the sandbox has existed since May.
This was MEANT to be my SCP-6000 submission but as I had forgotten about it I never submitted it.
Before accusing me of stealing your SCP idea, please consider more than one person has thought of this before.
Thank you for stopping by.
Dr Templar
Unfortunately, I had no access to your personal sandbox.. However, my SCP-6000 entry hit the real website for all to see. Therefore has been public knowledge to anyone paying any attention to the SCP-6000 contest (my article was the screw-up of the year, so I'm positive it's somewhat remembered amomgst the community). I'm doing what some moderators and admins suggested and I'm fine-tuning it for the 7000 contest. Having pretty much the same idea trying to pre-exist will unquestionably cheapen my efforts.

I don't see how this claim of plagiarism could be substantiated. Bottomless hole is a very basic concept that have existed in many form throughout the fictional media, including but not limited to Lord of the Rings and Made in Abyss. And that's basically the only similarity. This swamp pond does not wander around preying on people, the only people it harmed are the people that the Foundation lowered into it.
And your concept was basically the game hole.io just heart-shaped so I don't really know if you have the high ground of originality here.
Based on edit history, jetskiilol has had (publicly viewable) sandbox content starting 18 May 2021, while Dr Templar created their first sandbox page on 1 June 2021.
I do not think staff action is necessary as of now, beyond noting that this doesn't seem to be a case of plagiarism/idea theft? I'm willing to look over excerpts provided by the user if/as needed.
