New site member Thundercat3 (account age 36 days, site membership 24 days) recently coldposted an article that is currently at -11.
After someone posted feedback and information on how to seek critique before the mainlist, they replied with: http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-14110058/scp-5778#post-4992704
1st paragraph: I didn't say that they were REQUIRED to justify their vote, just that it'd be helpful.
Second paragraph (after bullet points): Okay, that's just ridiculous. Not blaming you, but just because a skip gives off "Series I vibes" doesnt mean its BAD. and that extends to the last bullet point, maybe I WANT to make something that's just a thing-that-does-things. If the community takes those in and spits them back out like trash, then it feels like there's no place to post a thing-that-does-things, when I thought this was that place.
Third paragraph: Yeah, I skipped that part because this was supposed to be a simple object. I wasn't expecting to do Incidents, but even those were pretty simple and didn't seem worth going through the greenlighting process.
Fourth paragraph: I did read all the tabs there.
Fifth paragraph: I'm VERY discouraged by this. If skips aren't accepted nowadays just because theyre the kind that youd find in series I, then I don't want to write. If this actually gets deleted, I guess I'll go back to being a passive upvoter and downvoter, with occasional comments. I'm certainly not gonna be an author for a community that doesn't allow me to do the things that I heard about and joined the site for. And "It's hard to write for the wiki, but it's definitely not impossible"? Well, it seems to me that it's impossible to write what I want to write, not just hard.
If this gets deleted, my goodwill towards this community gets mostly deleted.
Keep an eye on.
