Archiving or Deleting the Expert Witnesses Guide

The Expert Witnesses guide has been out of date for quite some time now. Quite honestly, I don't feel very comfortable listing people's real-world credentials and occupations on the SCP Wiki. It's an outdated practice that was borne from a wiki that was much smaller than what we have today. As such, the MAST Guide Rewrite Team is proposing that the guide be moved to the archived: category. This thread will be open for discussion for three days and is open to operational staff and above to comment. Junior staff may also comment with the permission of their captains.

EDIT: Additionally, the page is available for outright deletion. Whichever option is favored by staff is the one that I'll go with here.

I support this.
As the one who proposed the page's archival over just deletion, there is background info for some old users on there that I would hate to lose outright. For my own historical and archivist reasons, the edit history is particularly interesting to me as some old names were edited out over time along with the info on there at the present. Keeping the page for historical records is nice, and archiving should get it out of the limelight for random users.

Edit: After looking through it last night, there ended up being little of value archival-wise. Just leaving this note for posterity as the page was deleted.

Definitely more in favour of outright deletion here. It doesn't make sense to archive something when the concern is about personal data being posted on the wiki — all this data still exists when the page has archived: in the URL. I think we can manage the minor loss of history to keep our users safe.

Like, this is a big point. As WhiteGuard points out, the revision history contains a bunch more personal stuff as people were removed from it for various reasons. And… I think we should strongly considering deleting this to reduce the amount of personal data we leak about members unnecessarily.

Which means as much as I support archival, I support deletion more strongly.

I'm in favor of deletion given the reasoning noted above.

I admit that I don't really care about this page and that, since these last years, I failed to see the utility of this (like, which author can say they got great help for an article because they contacted a person in the Expert Witnesses?). Plus, there's not really a lot of comments and, if I remember correctly, the last persons who wanted to be added didn't even met the requirements.

So, yeah, whether we archive or we delete it, I agree that we should get rid of it.

I would significantly prefer deletion but if we don't do that, archival is at least something.

It was a different time and I think we've since turned a corner as regards personal information, even when posted voluntarily.
