Greetings Staff,
Due to popular demand around the SCP wiki, MAST is looking into launching a fourth Wikiwalk run, allowing articles in the two most recent series and a plethora of new authors and talent to throw their hats into the ring to continue the quest of interconnectedness between articles on the site.
How this works:
- We make an announcement on the site calling for articles.
- Authors provide a list of articles they are open to having edits for proposed wiki walk links added to, along with a brief summary of the article, information regarding potential headcanon info, etc.
- After a preset cutoff time, we finalize the list.
- Wikiwalk staff will then begin working down the list (usually in numerical order in blocks of ten for organizational reasons).
Please note that for this version of Wikiwalk, we are asking that authors also attach a short summary of their article along with. This could take a couple of forms: a short (1-2 sentence) summary, any unstated headcanons (Repeating anything said in the Leak is both okay and appreciated!), some of the most relevant themes or areas where you feel it could be connected to something else. The Wikiwalk team will use these summaries to help decide on crosslinks for your articles, but may choose a different topic if considered appropriate.
During the proposal process, a wikiwalk team member will submit a post in the respected article's discussion proposing the respected link/links. An example is provided below:
Additionally, the author will be sent a PM along the lines of:
Once the seven days have run down and assuming no major objection/author approval the author is sent the following follow-up PM:
This process is then rinsed and repeated by the staff members until the submitted articles are run through. At this point, MAST may reevaluate interest/staff availability to launch Wikiwalk V, and so on.
As with previous Wikiwalks all SCP articles, including 001 proposals, -EXs, and -Js are open to inclusion on the list. In general, tales and GoI formats are excluded so as to keep the list focused, and prevent the workload from ballooning to Sisyphean proportions.
Given that this process has been shelved for nearly two years with the conclusion of Wikiwalk III, MAST is open to hearing suggestions from staff as to how the process may be improved, further streamlined, etc.
Thank you for your time,
Conwell.
