This is the voting thread for the official creation of the Maintenance and Ancillary Staff Team (MAST), while previously detailed in the proposal thread, this voting thread will serve to establish the function, structure, and purview of the team, as well as clarify certain aspects of the previous proposal.
Function
MAST will be the primary team responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the wiki by performing a number of tasks and duties that are intrinsic to the operation of the site.
The current duties the MAST team will shoulder upon its creation are listed below1:
- Ensuring deletions are done. Non-MAST staff can still perform deletions, however, ensuring that deletions are completed will be a MAST responsibility
- Tagging of new pages. The tech team will maintain responsibility for the creation of tags.
- Maintain staff information pages and guides, especially those that list staff members, and update them when necessary, in cooperation with relevant staff.
- Moderate collaborative test logs. This is a joint responsibility with the Rewrite Team
- Implementation of large-scale navigation or discovery projects, including the wikiwalk footers at the bottom of articles
- Aid other Staff Teams with large scale projects or undertakings which they may not have the staffpower to complete
Additional responsibilities may be added, with assent from the MAST Team members and the captains. If the responsibility falls closer to the purview of another team, MAST must obtain express permission from the captain of the related team that they are allowed to take on the additional duty.
Structure
MAST will operate with a hierarchical sub-team organization. Each primary duty will be made into a small team, with a single section leader. The leaders of each of these teams will maintain consistent contact with the co-captains of MAST. The team will function similar to the Community Outreach team, with its seminars sub-team.
The co-captains for this team will be myself and Roget. The admin contact will be Dexanote. At the moment, no section leaders have been officially delegated, but these positions will be filled upon the passage of this vote and the creation of our team's hub on 05 Command
