Alright, this is a little bit odd.
I'm fine with implementing a non-disciplinary ban based on user request, for whatever length they ask (solely at our discretion, of course).
However, we still do need to either implement a disciplinary ban, or choose to leave the disciplinary action at a warning.
Obviously it's going to have the same effect, but it matters in case there are future problems. And part of the reason we're here is that this behavior has gone on for years, even if I feel more sympathetic now than yesterday.
Thus far, we have (only counting Disciplinary votes):
Ban of 24 hours: 2 (myself, Pig_catapult)
Ban of any/unknown length: 2 (Bright, Roget, kaktus kaktus isn't on Disciplinary, though I think he's supposed to be?, Mann)
Assuming this is all accurate, it seems we can implement a 24 hour ban, and then at our discretion, leave a ban up until the end of the year per the user's request, but as non-disciplinary.
Can someone from Disciplinary weigh in on this with an opinion? Eskobar is the Disciplinary captain, and would normally be called upon to adjudicate, but I can't find him. In a pinch, DrMann is the go-to admin for the team: opinion, Mann?
