Above I have placed a voting chart for the Moderators currently up for promotion to the position of Administrator. I implore all active Admins to vote and provide commentary regarding their positions on these two individuals. At least a few sentences, please; this is serious business voting time. Please only place one X in the yes or no column to dictate your vote.

This vote will close during the afternoon of March 7, 2020.

+NOTE: I have extended the vote until Sunday; having it end on Thursday, with only 4 days notice, is an awful idea. I had a logic for that, but since it isn't returning to me now, it was bad logic.

DrMagnus	x		I can't believe I'm saying it, but yes, definitely yes. Magnus ahs really grown as a user over the years, and I'm super proud of where he is now, and can't wait to see where he will end up.

DrMagnus	X		Magnus has come a hell of a long way. He's become one of the most valuable members on staff, and he fully deserves to be an admin at this point. We also badly need a member of tech in administration, so this promotion is a no-brainer.
Modern_Erasmus	X		We really could not have done the fundraiser without Erasmus. His coordination with the community and his help in drafting our official communications has been invaluable. And that's only a small part of the work he's been doing around the site. I think he's going to be a great admin.

DrMagnus	X		Magnus is a god damn hero. His technical expertise and ability to wrestle with the guts of this wretched wiki/IRC ecosystem we use is not to be underestimated. His work with the Tech team is fabulous, and his other expertise and relevant experience in other staff-only capacities is a great help. He has a vision for the future of the wiki and it's shared with everyone who's been here long enough to feel where the best place to go is, and his vision has a solid foundation, no pun intended.
Modern_Erasmus	X		I feel that Modern_Erasmus would do well in an administrative position purely because of the work he already does - and how having an administrative voice performing these functions would help lend gravity and more legitimacy from the outside looking in. He's a key figure in licensing and outreach adjacent efforts and frankly, since Admin is more or less a sidegrade in every practical wiki-power-sense beyond bannings, it would look great to have an Admin sending these messages. Erasmus has proven to be an astonishingly useful and positive presence on staff. His advancement of our outreach and expertise displayed during several very public adventures - the Russia thing being a very big one - has shown that he more or less has the best interests of the site in mind. There's a few things here and there that make me go 'hmm', but absolutely nothing that would otherwise affect his work.

As long as neither of them sacrifice IRL commitments or energy too much for their admin work, I am thrilled to have them aboard.

DrMagnus	X		Holy shit has he come a long way in the past decade-plus. Magnus has consistently shown patience, knowledge, and even-handedness in his staff duties, both wiki and chat, and demonstrably has the best interests of the wiki at heart. And yes, more technical expertise on admin staff is a very good thing.
Modern_Erasmus	X		I have to admit, I don't know all the shit ME does for the site (which is my own failing), and everything new thing I learn about, I'm more and more impressed. It demonstrates a passion and a commitment to the wiki that would be very welcome in adminship. Plus what Dex said about doing all that shit with the weight of the admin title behind it.

DrMagnus	X		Magnus has been vital in a variety of specialized projects and has a very broad direction as to the direction he wishes to take the community with actionable steps towards that direction. He has clear presence among the staff and has repeatedly ameliorated conflict. At the same time, he can be snappy with staff if/when they break procedure and try things in his domain without conferring with him, has a ton of IRL responsibilities, and seriously risks burnout. I am concerned how much he will manage having his authority be seriously called into question during complex and often difficult policy discussions. Additionally, his IRL responsibilities cannot be understated (as I've brought before) and it should be anticipated that the site is simply not his top priority, as it should not be, compared to family et al. This is arguably a healthy relationship to his staffhood and should be commended as such. Overall, much of my concerns are potentialities, and the benefits are quite real.
Modern_Erasmus	X		Modern_Erasmus has been important in the organization of our PR and inter-communication of interdisciplinary rollouts of staff behaviors. His leadership among IO has been vital to the success of our platform broadly on social media. There is a question as to how much further he will be able to manage staff from an administrative position; there is a non-vanishingly small possibility that, over time, the lack of visibility of his responsibilities may harm the weight he has when pushing large changes in the future. I'm also not entirely sure how much he has in terms of New Things He Would Like To Do vs Handling Current Stuff Extremely Well. Arguably, this doesn't mean anything regarding his candidacy right now. He has already been performing extremely important duties on a variety of circumstances and has managed each emergency or potential PR disaster with adaptability, finesse, grace, and clear-headedness. I speculate that he will be able to mentor others in adopting a similar mindset in his team, which will benefit us all as staff.

DrMagnus	X		Magnus has been very patient with me poking him on occasion with regards to tech and asking for clarification on various big projects (particularly tags, and answering various queries across the site).
Modern_Erasmus	X		M_E has been absolutely amazing handling so many PR duties and keeping staff in the loop regarding updates outside the mainsite.

I'm still swamped due to the influx of new users and the forum changes, so this is a fairly short post. I'm confident in both of these individuals.

Being Reserve for an exceptionally long time, I didn't want to cast an official vote. But I highly support this development, and I wanted to post to welcome DrMagnus and Modern_Erasmus to the team. Both of you do excellent work. I'm pleased that we're finally adding more admins, and two very deserving candidates at that. This has been a long time coming, and I'm glad it's finally here.
