Way back in 2012, during the folklore contest, I posted SCP-1060 (the penanggalan). Although it's rated > +50, it's probably my weakest SCP article and it's been fairly criticized for being a very straight adaptation of the folklore concept into SCP format.
We can do better.
My suggestion: let's have a summer mini-contest. Anyone who wants to can re-write SCP-1060, keeping as much or as little of it as they like. Judge in the usual fashion (and I would explicitly _not_ participate in the judging), winning submission takes over the 1060 slot with the winner getting full credit (and not merely re-write credit). Presumably none of the other entries get to stay on the mainlist at all since we don't want to clutter it up with a bunch of variations on the same thing.
Whatd'ya think?
