tl;dr Since I didn't have prior context besides the logs, I asked staff to double-check. Given they have an apparent history, I agreed that the ban should stay. 24 hours.
Worth noting that this user had the same IP as DrKaiju when he first joined #site17. He claimed that he was just using a proxy, which neither weizhong, Drewbear nor myself found to be a strong stance. We made him "drop" it, although he could just be using a different one.
Basically, there is a chance that this is DrKaiju, but there wasn't enough evidence to comfortably bar him.
e: In light of some recent stuff, I'm no longer confident he's not Kaiju (note that this does not mean I'm confident he is).
ee: Not enough to move on, but pretty damn certain this kid's Kaiju.
Aaaaand permabanned after: being disruptive in 19, sending weird messages about "/b/ planning a raid on 19" to Zyn, the above incidents, and a lot of staff discussion. Moose set the ban, Kaktus sent the user the message. In Op Chat, of 11 ops present, 6 chat ops voted for a permaban, 3 voted for against immediate permaban, and 2 abstained. I don't have logs, but someone else may.
For the record, the message about /b/ planning a raid was sent as what seemed to be a friendly heads-up warning. I wasn't sure how to interpret it, but given the prior history, I understand finding it suspicious.
In light of this thread user has been banned from 17 as well. With the similar behavior, I would not be against wiki action for what seems to be an attempt at socking on site.
