Does not care for SCP-701. Accused thekillerax of somehow influencing other people to upvote it, saying they'd never heard of it before. Notably, thekillerax has been on the wiki just about a year now, and so far as I'm aware, his only interaction with 701 was to note that it had reached +400 status.

This is my first comment on any SCP, though I've been reading for a few years now. When I started, there were only a small handful, maybe 10-12 articles in what has now been dubbed the "Series II" scips.
I'm writing this comment, because I feel I must have missed something. This is a heritage scip… but, I've never heard of it before. And, I don't feel it's all that great.
Just put it on the school's banned books list. Done, already mostly contained.
It's just a play that makes people go mad, and then only when performed. How many plays have you seen in your life? Cause my total sits at around 2, both at school, and neither exactly Shakespeare.
It just doesn't excite me. There's no interesting mystery, nothing extraordinarily scary, no cool by-products.
The only mystery is "who is the masked person on stage"? And, that's not interesting to me, because there are no clues. It could be literally anyone, and that doesn't make for an interesting mystery.
The only scary thing comes for people who often attend plays that they've never heard of… Which is almost no one.

I downvoted… Not that it matters. This has been given a +400, meaning it no longer stands on it's own merits. I really despise that system. It's so completely arbitrary. Just because "thekillerax" really liked this one, now it looks like it's been upvoted more times than God and Able combined, both of which are much more a part of the heritage of this site than this.

Anyway, point being, maybe I missed something? Maybe there's some hidden fridge creep in here that I haven't gotten to yet? Someone tell me if I did, cause I'd really like an explanation for why some people seem to love this so much.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with thekillerax liking this article. thekillerax has been a member of this wiki for about a year. Their only connection is that they pointed out that it had reached +400. Most of those upvotes happened before thekillerax was even on the site.

It probably has everything to do with differing tastes. If you go through the comments, you'll see reasons people gave for liking it.

Now, it's okay if you don't like it. And it's okay if you give the reasons you don't like it. But don't accuse people of arbitrarily upvoting because of a user who hadn't even joined the site at the time. Because that's witchcraft. And that's against site policy.

Wait, hold on. I'm being told that witchcraft is not, in fact, against site policy. Being a dick is. And your behavior is definitely treading the dickish line. Especially when you're accusing another user of somehow manipulating votes. Pull it back, Bottom. Consider this an official reprimand.

If others want to explain what they like about the article, that's fine, but they are under no obligation to do so.
