Shit, I accidentally the forums while trying to delete a troll page. HALP!

Shit shit shit, I think I deleted them entirely; I can't find them in the "deleted:" category.

They look fine to me. You didn't delete them hard enough.
Gah. Okay, I fixed it. I deleted the discussion pages, not the forums, but I found the code to restore them.
Oh thank god.
EDIT: However, it did delete Thread entirely, apparently.

Can we lock Thread again please? It's been like five minutes and we already have two idiotic "bees" comments.
I'm…keeping an eye on it. It is always an option.
Alternately, one might suggest a policy where we open thread only at certain times of the day, only for a few minutes at a time. I dunno, people seem to like Thread, but maybe if access to it were rationed out, they might be less idiotic with it?
Keep it open if you must. But I'm going to start recommending timeouts for people who spam up Recent Posts with inane "page king"-esque bullshit.
I went ahead and relocked it, because the entire recent posts thread was basically nothing but thread replies. Many of which were from staff.
I am disappoint.

can you blame me for seeing this coming and wanting to get a bit of poetry in because all my recent comments on the last Thread were STOP WITH THE PAGE KING SPAMPOSTS, OR I'LL START DELETING THEM"
To be frank, if we open Thread again, we should just delete literally anything we want and drink the tears of those who object.
(Not that I advocate this procedure for real forum posts.)
I have no issue with thread being locked forever. Let this new Thread stand as a monument to just how dumb thread becomes in a matter of minutes after being unlocked.
Also, maybe I wasn't paying attention, but the notion that "thread serves as the place for people to behave like jackasses so they don't behave like jackasses elsewhere" seems like it was given lie to by the fact that when it was locked, there wasn't a flood of dumb posts elsewhere on the site. If people want to enjoy off-topic goofiness, might I suggest any other site on the internet?
Also, Drew, even though you were only the first person to note it, I consider the fora being locked to also be your fault. So consider this to be strike two! D:<
Troy's the one who locked it last time, and I suppose he can do it again if it gets out of hand, if it was ever in hand.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
You know that literally any mod or admin can lock any thread, including Thread, right?
I mean, thread's different enough that not anyone would be able to just waltz over and lock it unless they were Troy. Which he has already done. woo.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
Noooooooooo.
Any admin or mod on disciplinary should exercise their power to lock or halt discussions/posting that make it difficult for people to enjoy the site. Remember that, while we may have ten or fifteen members who really enjoy thread, we have many more who are indifferent to or annoyed by it, and many more readers of the site who aren't actually members that browse recent posts.
If anything on the site becomes as obstructive or distracting as thread, I would expect similar measures to be taken by the people who we have vested authority in to do so.

On this day, the 28th of January, in the Year of our LORD two-thousand fifteen, MechaTroy did descend from the skies and relock Thread.
Amen.

Yeah, I don't really mind this happening at all. Perhaps we can reopen Thread at some point, but the longer we keep it dead, I think the more likely we'll get spammed with posts about "AMGAD THREAD LIVES AGAIN."
