I can see your reasoning, but we still ask people not to do that.
The second post in particular is problematic. I do not want to see anyone, especially not a member without any staff authority, being dismissive of a new member like this, especially when said member took the time to explain their actions and their confusion (and moreover, acted correctly).
I staffposted, no official warning yet because I've seen Fae help out with the rest of the forums in keeping spam down, but this sort of curbstomp behavior is not good for the community at all. I'd much rather see people bring in a staff member to handle the scenario if something like this happens again.
