Kid had been in earlier and actively saw me ban somebody for being underage. Then this happened.

Voting against any commutation for the obvious reasons. He also keeps running into the deathwall, meaning he's definitely not processing what he's been told to do. I'd be fine with a twelve-month one, to be honest. Just to be sure.

So I got banned for acting immatuarely, but I was actually being sarcastic, I tried to appeal, but then they said I was gonna get banned for six months, I think this is unfair, as most legal systems work as innocent until proven guilty, but they treated it like guilty until proven innocent. Is there anything you could do to help?

I'm pretty sure most legal systems involve loads of breakdown-inducing paperwork and procedure too. If the only argument he's got for letting him back into chat is "the ban is unfair" and "I was being sarcastic", I'm automatically iffy on lessening the sentence.

I think it's okay to let them stay on the site for now.

Honestly, with that excellent grasp of sarcasm, how can we keep them banned?

Also, if we've decided we're treating them as underage, they should be removed from the wiki too.

Concurring with this. On both fronts, but particularly the 'remove from wiki' front. If we know they aren't in compliance with the rules (which we often describe as being very strict, on the age front), there's no reason not to go ahead and remove them now.

One member of Disciplinary has voted to keep them on the site. One member of Disciplinary has voted to remove them from the site.

One admin (that's me) has intentionally not voted.

Therefore there are effectively zero votes for or against removing this person from the site.

[Edit: Note that the reason there needs to be a vote is because we're voting on whether or not to believe the 'joke' was a joke or not, and whether or not we believe this person to be underaged.]

Separation of Site & Chat. Different voting pools which can easily come to different conclusions.

If it were completely unambiguous, of course, it wouldn't matter.

I get separation of Site and Chat (not that I agree with it, but hey ;)), but that's not really the point here.

If someone does something on chat, it doesn't impact them on the wiki. So far, so good. But this isn't a case of something that happened, it's a case of someone being something or in this case being treated as something on one of our platforms, and not on the other. This strikes me as ever so odd. Notice that inflection, the raised eyebrows and the army of penguins with nuclear warheads strapped to their cute little heads.

Anyway, this got more attention, so I'm happy either way. We have a tendency to leave discussions, votes etc. hanging, so any closure is appreciated at this point.

• A lot of small things adding up to general immaturity, such as claiming everything is 'sarcasm' (when that isn't what sarcasm means) and general goofiness (people gave you details about this in chat after your ban)
• No one that we have seen so far has ever joked by saying "I'm fourteen". Largely because it's not funny, as it's not remotely unusual on the internet ("six", on the other hand, would actually be funny). However, very, very many users have told us they were fourteen (correctly) and then tried to play it off as a joke once they discover that this is below the age limit.
• You repeatedly attempted to join 19 after being banned, instead of waiting for an appeal.

All this leads us to believe that you were not joking about being 14. Even if you are in fact not 14, you act too similarly to being 14 for us to consider removing your ban at this time.
