Triple-posting but I don't care.
I'm pretty fucking done with this. I feel as if I've wasted my breath writing a bunch of in-depth posts that few will read, to make points no one cares about, in a community that flips out on me for every sufficiently leftist statement I make, especially with regards to 'social justice' because gods know we're not a community mostly of cis straight white dudes or anything, and heavens know I didn't join this site just as non-binary people were kicked, banned, had their apps denied for being non-binary, and certainly I didn't spend a decent chunk of my life trying to change that or anything, while still receiving plenty of abuse. No, this is still a community where me saying MRAs are misogynist will result in more neutral-seeming admins or mods receiving multiple harassment complaints. Where any woman who isn't sufficiently Nice And Motherly/Sisterly gets seen as dangerous 'because Aelanna' and if you say this out loud PERHAPS YOU ARE THE REAL SEXIST!!!!!. Where people throw a screaming tantrum when you say anything about 'what if not all your characters were white dudes'?
I'm getting off-topic. But then, this is very relevant, isn't it. It's the excuse Scantron would use for the shit he said if he even fucking knew it was HAPPENING.
But of course he doesn't. Scantron is a moderator who hasn't done anything of use or paid serious attention to the site in probably years at this point, rarely if ever helped with fucking shit on the issues we've had to deal with (also over years), rarely or never acted as an ally or any sort of moral support (also over years). But he's happy to hide behind social justice/political banners as an excuse to tell someone he doesn't like to kill themselves, an excuse to dismiss all criticism. A moderator who asks us to let him help keep running the site despite doing absolutely fucking jackshit besides a couple deletion votes here and there. A person who will insult me when I am the sole person to try to talk to him.

I can think of another time I put in a lot of work in for little payoff. Ah yes. Echo. The spewer of white supremacist rhetoric in question here. He told people to go kill themselves. That was fun to deal with, to listen to people try to justify, to have to explain the rules to the people he hurt and why those rules made it okay for him to do that (especially before I was in a position to change those rules, a position I worked years to get). He kept calling me a politician too, especially near the end.
Fuck this.
Scantron, you're a shit ally, a shit friend, and a shit staff member.
But I'm not even mad at you. I'm mad because I shouldn't even be surprised. Because what's new?
Now I await the deluge of PMs I will surely get for saying something positive about social justice, for expressing too much vitriol as an administrator.
Or maybe I won't get any PMs, because Scantron is seen as a leftist radical too. Burying him will only get me cheers. :)
