I actually don't think ban evasion must be an automatic ban, just can be. In other words, yes, it's cause, but it's not mandated.

Just for the record, though, Mael has repeatedly tried to reenter #site19, including under a couple different names. I don't have logs — Procyon, did you say you did? — but I did see at least one of those happen. Applying to the wiki and joining 17 aren't problematic, but that kinda was. Nothing to act on; I just wanted to make a note.

Supporting Zyn's suggestion: tell them to wait six months to reapply and make no attempt to rejoin or reapply before then on pain of permaban.

Why not tell him that he's got 6 months to wait until he can apply, and if he tries to ban evade before that time, it's a perma?

edit: So, does all this count as ban evasion? I mean, he knows he's banned and he just. keeps. trying. to. get. in. Isn't that usually cause for upgrade to permaban? Or does this guy's relative politeness earn him one more explanation and one more chance before the hammer comes down?

Apologies, but your ban will stand, and will last for at least the next 6 months, up to 1 year.

Trying so hard. I don't believe him.

I dunno. He's offering a semi-reasonable answer and he seems coherent and well-mannered, and at worst he's a matter of months away from the age minimum. I'd hate to waste even kickban list space on him.

Wait, I stated I was 14? I am pretty sure I typed 16, anyway it was an accident or a typo. I couldn't see what I typed as of right after I was banned. Would you mind unbanning me for my slight mistake? Thanks.

Alright. We do have a record of this. You stated you were 14. Why are you now stating that you are 16? Why are you claiming that you stated you were 16, when I can see that you did not?
