I don't even remotely believe him.

This user keeps being caught in some form of plagiarism and then claiming it didn't happen. After seeing his chat O5 thread he posted in 19 denying everything. When I pointed out that I was the one who had that conversation with him and caught him, he claimed I misunderstood / remembered wrong. He claimed it was a "joke".

That, and the fact is, I have zero belief that he's ever going to try to create anything of his own. In 19, he rarely helps with drafts, he just keeps pasting his own and completely ignoring or arguing with feedback. (By arguing, I mean mostly restating the idea in long form. So far always a generic idea or someone else's idea. Never acknowledging that, of course.)

I support permaban even if Bergman did give permission. I extensively critiqued this draft along with others and not once did he mention that he'd copy/pasted from Bergman (he also tried to pretend he didn't by saying it was 'based on' Bergman's idea) — plus the non-Bergman material is ripped from "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream".

And finally, his non-directly-plagiarized ideas have been just bland recountings of generic ideas from other media, from tabletop games to anime series.

If this was the only offense, that would be different, especially if he had permission. But it's not. I'm pretty much done with dealing with this nonsense.

I've asked him for a log or record of this request for permission. If he can't provide it he's probably not being truthful.

Vivax, I brought this draft up months ago as well as the fact that it was originally written by Dr. Bergman, and I was told by staff that if I could write a good article and get staff permission, I could post a revision of Dr Bergman's draft. I am currently in the process of the former, and I will be asking for the latter once I am satisfied with the draft. Your warning is warranted, though I was already told then that I could not post the scp otherwise.

I replied:

Staff and author permission should be obtained prior to using or rewriting anyone's work. This is not acceptable.

Not staff (chatOP), but considering the past history of this user, it's not too much of a stretch to say that even if they do appeal, they would probably plagiarize again.

Not a mod or admin, but I'm in full agreement with actions taken to ban the user for plagiarism; there's a lot of shit you can fuck up here, but especially given that it a writing community, taking another author's work and blatantly copy-pasting sections of it wholesale and then passing it off as your own work seems pretty well to be a capital offense.

This user appears to have a tendency to plagiarize. I think something really needs to be done by this point. It's been three times now, and I could've sworn plagiarism was supposed to be a zero tolerance offense.

Voting to permaban (or indefinite ban, or banned-with-opportunity-to-appeal-in-a-year, or whatever term you prefer) now. I can't recall immediately if that was how we treated past instances of plagiarism, but this is blatant.

I'm not okay with this. I don't see any evidence of Bergman having given permission for Zenoseiya to use their work, and I really don't like the idea of people diving into others' old sandboxes looking for stuff they can rip off.
