Regardless of whether or not the author obviously knows what is wrong with their article, this kind of low-effort contentless, one-sentence, four-word critique helps out no one. Not the author of the article, not other critiquers who think it's okay to emulate this type of critique on every low-sinking article they see because a chat staff member said it, not staff who has to call it out, and not you because this doesn't help you help an author. This is a repeated pattern of behavior. If you're going to provide critique for an article, put in more effort. No one is expected to write paragraphs of critique for a one-sentence article, but it doesn't give one an excuse to write a five-second post and think they helped. If one is going to critique an article along these lines, they're better served not saying anything at all.

EDIT: There were apparently three incidents yesterday that were reported by Scantron in #Site17 and the he was told that "we are looking into it". I wasn't present in chat at the time, but was told that Roget should be able to vouch for the complaint.

I can post log excerpts received from Scantron if that would be helpful.

I'm a little confused by the "a while ago" statement since one of my replies was to a day-old post, but I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt here, since all he needs to do is stop telling everyone to scrap their stuff.

He's in no position to tell anybody to scrap anything. Decent crit is decent crit, and I can understand the occasional "this probably won't work like this" is fine but come on.

I'm currently staffposting on recent incidents, to get the message across that telling someone essentially "give up" is not remotely close to what we want going on in the forums.
