What does "lists its accustomed state" mean?

Anyway, this seems like a random list of effects. Like, it's a brain, with a tail, that is mostly dead but not entirely, that summons little crystal critters when exposed to emotion, which then explode and die, and for some reason we have to keep it on a pedestal…

They also had some rather passive agressive statements elsewhere in that discussion, like here:

They posted their full draft on their original post and responded to the original post without editing it. I called them out on both, Accelerando ended up blanking the original post. They then made another double-comment a little while ago which I also called out.
