Is the fiat:

1. We're not discussing this until later, leaving staff with no policy on commissions (and thus implicitly permitting them, because they aren't banned)
2. Staff are permitting commissions for now
3. Staff are not permitting commissions for now
4. Or something else?

However, we have just now finally gotten a policy that most of our userbase can live with. We are in the experimental period where we see how this is going to work out. I do not think we need further wrinkles at this time.

When we revisit this—and we will revisit this—we can evaluate how the policy is working out. If it's working out very well, we can decide if we want to expand it to things like commissions.

However, I think it is vital that we see how this works out now before we make further changes.

That being said, if people want to work out commissions privately or off-site, that is none of our business, even if those commissions end up on the site. They will at that point be treated as normal entries. There is no way we could police that in any case.

This is something I really should have brought up in discussion, but I kept forgetting to: what's the policy on commissioning things on-site? I.e. someone wants to pay me to write for their project/canon, or just write a specific piece, and I charge a flat rate for what I write? Would this be okay?
