Entry into SCP-3578's chamber is strictly forbidden without direct approval from at least two (2) Level 4 personnel. A circular exclusion perimeter of 10 meters in radius is marked around SCP-3578 inside the chamber. Under no circumstances are personnel allowed to cross into this radius. Observation and study must be conducted through remote surveillance systems and drones. Any human subject who enters the active radius is to be classified as SCP-3578-1. Instances of SCP-3578-1 are to be sedated immediately (if possible) and terminated within 24 hours. Attempts at rehabilitation, deprogramming, or amnestic treatment have failed. --- Description: SCP-3578 is a life-sized statue of a giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) in a seated position. Despite its initial resemblance to synthetic resin, tissue sampling via remote extraction has revealed that SCP-3578 is composed entirely of organic panda tissue, including muscle, skin, and fur. The biological material shows no signs of decomposition, microbial activity, or natural decay despite a complete absence of blood flow or metabolism. Anomalous Effect: Any human subject entering within 10 meters of SCP-3578 is instantly affected. The subject becomes SCP-3578-1 and develops an intense, obsessive, and irrational hatred for all pandas, both living and depicted. Affected individuals begin shouting slogans and rants against pandas within seconds, including phrases such as: “Pandas are parasites!” “They’re evolution’s mistake!” “We waste resources on a species that deserves extinction!” SCP-3578-1 instances no longer require food, water, or sleep. They exhibit no signs of fatigue or physiological degradation, maintaining constant aggression and cognitive clarity despite extended activity.
