Noting for records-keeping that the user sent me the following PM today:

Dear Site Administrator Zyn,

I’d like you to review my latest idea! I’ve gone through the Butterfly Squad Roster biography and have read that you are the most critical reviewer who rarely gives out greenlights. I’d like to see if my idea pitch is good enough. (e.g the wordcount, the vocabulary, the central narrative etc.) Take your time, if you even decide to review it at all that is… heheheh ;).

https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-17600349/seeking-greenlights-scp-xxxx-regnum-maris

Love to get some critical feedback, mate! And this time, I ain’t gonna make a fuss bout it :D.

- Jonaslolzagain

Given the "heheheh ;)" inclusion in the PM and the fact that the user's wikidot "about" currently reads, "Well, I love reading and coming up with ideas for the SCP community, helping people with their projects (not SCP). Got a feline (Cola). But I unfortunately lash out in bad times (Zyn would know that)." I responded:

Sorry, I'm not interested in this material. Please do not request feedback from me in the future.

Noting that the user sent me the following:

Dear Site Administrator Zyn

I don’t want to clog up your messages (or make you think I am spamming) but I want to prove in any way possible that I didn’t use Generative AI to write my draft and/or idea.

I also know that I am on the “naughty list” (AI Usage).

It was an unpolished idea for the youtuber @O5_Off which I wrote during my vacation at Kosovo. Thus I didn’t care for correct grammar that much. The number as well as the researchers were also randomly selected because of the same reason.

In case you are on mobile:

+ Raw draft that I expanded on [code in collapsible, ported below]
That was written 5 months ago. Fast forward to about a month ish. I thought of polishing the draft up before posting it onto the Wiki.

If you want more proof, I will happily share anything I can!

With love
- Jonas

+ show block

– hide block

SCP-7583 Classification: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: SCP-7583 is to be contained in a 5x5 meter plexiglass enclosure with a steel frame. No personnel under the authorization level 3 is allowed to enter its containment chamber (see incident-log-7583-1) Description: SCP-7583 is a 15-inch I Macintosh G3 recovered from the house off John ███, following the raid of his home by foundation personnel due to reports of anomalous activity. Powering the item up shows the typical loading screen and desktop of any G3 at the time. However, upon opening the Internet Explorer application the screen will show a blank white screen before showing a singular search bar with no other elements present. Upon interacting with said bar via questions like „What will the weather be tomorrow?“, the computer will generate a pin-perfect response for the user. This is not limited to basic questions though, as it answers most questions with a correct answer or one that is close enough. For example, Dr. Buck asked the computer the following question „What is SCP-294?“. The computer replied with the exact file and article down to the last detail, including the „Cup of Joe“ incident. The object was able to answer 9/10 questions relating to the foundation correctly with it not giving an answer to the following one „Who am I?“. This shows that either the entity does not know everything, or it realized that Dr. Buck was testing him. Addendum 7583-1 The machine seems to randomly power on and off and has thus tried frying its cable. This might suggest that it wants to escape our custody. Note that the cable needs to be replaced on a bi-weekly basis in order to continue testing with it. Addendum 7583-2 Dr. Buck wrote two fully fictional stories, one online and the other in a book. Dr. Buck asked the following question „Do you know L-1? (the non-digital book)“ It answered with „No.“. However by asking if the object knew L-2, the machine replied with the whole plot. Note that while the book was written on a computer device, it wasn‘t published. Despite the object not being connected to the internet, its presumed that the entity is indeed connected with the database, albeit secretly. Further testing with psychological questions will commence in the next week. Addendum-7853-3 The object was moved to a new undisclosed location in order to see if it could remember its responses. The machine was hooked up with a civilian grade power supply cable in order to test that hypothesis. When questioned about the location of Site-[][], it gave the exact coordinates to it. This shows that the device can remember its information. When Dr. Buck looked at its storage capacity, it had drastically increased to accommodate around [][] Terabytes of Foundation Data. The object will be brought back to its Site for more analyzing and monitoring. Testing on whether the object may be sentient or not will commence in a week with Junior Researcher Dr. █████ . After that, the disassembling of the machine will be attempted to see if it carries over its anomalous effects. Incident-Log-7583-1 Junior Researcher Dr. █████ asked the following question „Are you aware of your surroundings?“. The computer replied with „Yes.“ The researcher followed up with „ Do you like me?“. The computer replied with „█████████“. Dr. █████ was found dead in his office a few hours later. Its presumed that he dispatched himself due to the contents of the image that SCP-7583 send him. Researchers are to refrain from asking philosophical questions to SCP-7583, as it is hostile towards any staff member. Testing will commence in the following week under the supervision of Dr. Buck with 4 Class-D personnel

Sent back:

I will forward your message to staff.

Since the user was never issued a ban, as of now they do not need to provide any proof of not using AI.

That is entirely on me, sorry for escalating.
I also want to clarify that my ideas draft was not AI-generated and/or AI-assisted. I want to make it clear that I just failed to take the 3 minutes to read the Ideas and Critique guideline, in particular the "Central Narrative" section. I just copy/pasted the formular from another Greenlight post (think it was the Home Alone trap house one).

I'm not writing to argue with you any further, Zyn. Four CCTV devices are to be mounted in each corner and must be oriented towards the device at all times. The ambient temperature must not exceed 10°C/50°F. Two armed guards are to be stationed outside the chamber at all times with rotating shifts. Lethal force is authorized for any non-authorized or non-identified personnel. A manual kill switch is installed in the surveillance room adjacent to the containment chamber. The power cable must be replaced on a bi-weekly basis by authorized personnel and is connected to a regulated back-up power generator. (See Addendum-9115-1). SCP-9115 is to remain powered off at all times unless specifically authorized for testing by the Head of Research, Site Director or higher. **Description:** SCP-9115 is a 15-inch Blueberry Macintosh G3 recovered from the house of John Bullock, following the raid of his home by Mobile Task Force unit Omega-20 due to observations of anomalous activity. Powering the item up shows the ordinary loading screen and desktop of any Mac OS 8.1 at the time. However, upon opening the Internet Explorer application, the display will show a blank white screen before showing a singular search bar with no other elements present. Upon typing in questions the computer will generate a pinpoint-accurate response for the user. **Addendum 9115-1** John Bullock had been on the Foundation's radar for two weeks. He was found revealing redacted documents from multiple prisons mentioning disappearances of numerous death-row inmates, before deleting his online presence. The MTF unit stated that the floor of his house was covered in trash and rotting food, with a small path of clean carpet leading up to the anomalous device, which was then handed off to the Evidence Cataloging Division. The Person of Interest was found in his bedroom and was dispatched after shooting at one of the operatives with a Glock-19. Researcher Dr. Buck and Dr. Klean have been assigned to SCP-9115 upon the revelation of its anomalous properties by the ECD staff. The device has no internet connection and contains no applications other than Internet Explorer. **Testing-Log-9115-1:** **Date/Time:** 12/4/2006 **Researcher Dr. Buck Research Assistant Dr. Mensworth Researcher Dr. Klean** **Query:** "Who is Bill Clinton?" - //[18 milliseconds before it answered]// **Answer:** "Bill Clinton was the 42nd President of the United States of America."- //[the answer goes on to explain the life of Bill Clinton in full detail.]// **Query:** "Is there any weird trend surrounding death-row inmates in multiple state prisons?" - //[28 milliseconds before it answered]// **Answer:** "Yes, around 17 reports of missing death-row inmates were reported by correctional officers all across the lower 48 states." - //[explanation continues with reported coincidences and international reports]// **Query:** "What could be causing those disappearances?" - //[78 milliseconds before it answered]// **Answer:** "The Foundation, where I'm currently in."- //[provides exact coordinates for Site 42, explains the goals of the Foundation and states that death-row inmates are used as Class-Disposable subjects]// **Query:** "What is SCP-294?" - //[103 milliseconds before it answered]// **Answer:** [the exact contents of the SCP-294 file, word for word] [Dr. Buck stood up and got a slice of SCP-458 for lunch] - //[SCP-9115's screen flickered]// [The device was powered off] **-Termination of the experiment-** **Addendum 9115-2** More small experiments were held over the week. The object has answered all questions related to classified government operations from both the US and the Russian Federation with correct answers. **Test-Log-9115-2:** **Date/Time 19/4/2006 Researcher Dr. Buck** Dr. Buck wrote two fictional stories, one online titled //Comprehent// and the other in his journal named //To Follow a Butterfly// . Dr. Buck asked the following question **Query:** „Do you know //To follow a Butterfly//?" - //[30 milliseconds before answering, a minor pixel glitch was observed at the 11 millisecond mark]// **Answer:** „No. I don't know any stories with that title." However after asking if the object could summarize //Comprehent//, the machine replied with a detailed summary containing all key moments. Although //Comprehent// was written on a digital device, it wasn‘t published or shared. It's presumed that the entity is indeed connected with the database one way or the other, but it's unknown how it hasn't been detected. Further testing with its capabilities will commence in the next week. **Addendum-9115-3** The object was moved to a new undisclosed location in order to see if it stored any data or not. The machine was hooked up with a civilian-grade power supply cable in order to test that hypothesis. **Testing-Log-9115-3:** **Researcher Dr. Buck Researcher Dr. Klean** **Date/Time:** ██/5/2006 **Query:** "What is ‘The Foundation‘ ?" - //12 milliseconds before it answered// - //[screen fades for 15 milliseconds]// **Answer:** " You know it yourself." - went on to explain it again **Query:** "What did you mean with ‘You know it yourself‘ ?" //The machine didn't answer at all// **Query:** "Hello? What did you mean with that?" - //[SCP-9115's screen faded for 934 milliseconds before showing a fully white display with no search bar present, 20 seconds later it fried its power cable and turned off]// -Termination of the experiment due to the device having disconnected from the power supply- This shows that the device can store any database it has ever connected with, no matter how large or confidential. The object will be brought back to its Site for more analyzing and monitoring. Testing on whether the object may be sentient or not will commence in a week with Researcher Dr. Klean . After that, the disassembling of the machine will be attempted to see if it carries over its anomalous effects. **Incident-Log-9115:** **Date/Time:** ██/██/████ **Researcher Dr. Klean** **Query:** "Do you know who you are?" - 1 millisecond before it answered The computer replied with a short answer, deviating from its usually long and detailed responses. Answer: "Yes." **Query:** „Are you aware of your surroundings?“. - 10 milliseconds before it answered **Answer:** „Yes.“ **Query:** „Describe your surroundings.“ - 304 milliseconds before it answered **Answer:** „I am inside a 500 cm by 500 cm acrylic glass enclosure with an Electromagnetic Shielding Mesh mounted both into and onto the panels. Four video surveillance cameras are facing towards me. A 175 centimeter Caucasian Male is sitting right in front of me, I presume that it's you.“ **Query:** "Yes, That's me. Do you know me?" - 5 seconds before it answered **Answer:** An image of [DATA EXPUNGED] was shown to the researcher, the experiment was immediately terminated and Klean was send to the Medical Department, before being send to a Class-E Quarantine Cell. Dr. Klean was found dead in his cell a few hours later. Its presumed that he dispatched himself due to the [DATA EXPUNGED] that the machine send him. **Researchers assigned to SCP-9115 are to refrain from asking questions for the time being, as it is hostile towards any and presumably all staff members.**

Excerpts of note:

SCP-9115 / The Truth Machine

Item#: SCP-9115
Classification: Safe Euclid [See Incident-Log-9115]
Clearance Level: 4

Authorized Personnel assigned to this anomaly:

Sr. Dr. Johnathan Buck
Researcher Dr. Tom Klean

Description:
SCP-9115 is a 15-inch Blueberry Macintosh G3 recovered from the house of John Bullock, following the raid of his home by Mobile Task Force unit Omega-20 due to observations of anomalous activity.
