That's alright, I read that part too. But you can rest easy - I don't intend to extend my stay with this group beyond the life of this post. The conversations here have shown that I was unfortunately mistaken as to the nature of this community, and I don't want to intrude any further on this space which the staff and other members have spent so much of their time in. I'd rather leave them to their comfortable space and make my way elsewhere.

I can understand how an insular echo chamber can distort someone's perception, and I can't fault you for that - everyone is entitled to find a space they enjoy. But as a gentle reminder, the personal tastes which are conflated in this community with standards of writing are both novel to and valid only in this community. So while your defensive reaction to critique of your community's practices is perfectly natural, it may be worthwhile to curb the inflammatory language and insults. Alternatively, if you intend for the community to reject any and all new users and different perspectives, it may be helpful to articulate that up front.
