I don't have much to add to any of the blurbs, but reading over the commentary of others I have a couple of thoughts.

Cicada3301Fan - I see comments criticizing you not on a strict lack of involvement in discussion but on being too agreeable or agreeing too blindly in that discussion. Personally, I don't feel that way, and I'd challenge a decision made on the impression that you're being too agreeable. I've seen good growth from you in getting involved in discussion, but if someone thinks you haven't been involved enough then that's valid. I'm just cautious around an approach that agreement is less valid than disagreement. Supporting.

divinephobia - Your work with logging and record keeping for discord can not be understated. Without you the discord team would have quite a struggle with ever catching up on those. Supporting.

Mew-ltiverse - We've recently spoken about your work with MAST. I'd like to see you work on your comfort level with staff and being able to have the confidence to speak up. I know that you have worthwhile contributions to give. Supporting.

tetsusquared - Your work on Ambassadors is always going to be difficult to judge. If you do good work, then there's no drama and no one notices. But even with your best efforts you work is necessarily a dialogue and it can be ruined by a difference of opinion. I trust Jerden's judgement here, and I'm happy to hear that you helped to resolve those licensing issues. Supporting.

AvocadoMilk - Agreeing with the blurb, support.

Cicada3301Fan - Agreeing with Lord and Ori. At this time I'm against.

DianaBerry - A strong presence in CO from what I've seen. Support

divinephobia - Good work and involvement all around on the Discord team, I've especially appreciated all the work you've done with recordkeeping, that's something that is often more in the background but I definitely recognize your work there. Support

Erminustay - Great work for licensing. Support

FlyPurgatorio - I'm honestly surprised you're still JS with how positive and effective a presence I've seen you be. Support

LOVEMARGINAL - I'm unsure at this time. I do agree with the blurb in terms of the work I've seen in CO done for the art committee but I don't feel like I've seen enough of you outside of that to really know what kind of staff member you are, if that makes sense? Undecided for now.

Mew-ltiverse - I don't usually poke my head into Crit, but I have been following the general going ons with IRC Crit for the past little bit, in part due to the discussion regarding the Discord bridge, and though there was some confusion I ultimately like what I saw from you, clear dedication and a willingness to change when things aren't quite working. Seeing the feedback from Ori on your flight also seems promising. Support

ParallelPotatoes - good work with site news, and I feel I've seen you involved enough outside of that. Support

scalykitty - dittoing Ori, against due in part to recent inactivity.

tetsusquared - If anyone should be familiar with your work, I feel like I should be as admin contact for Ambassadors and yet somehow I feel like I'm not. Taking a glance through SCP-INT's embassy channel and staffcord as a whole, don't see a lot of you, nor do I recall seeing you much on 05.

I can understand that this is likely due to the nature of Ambassador work being sparse and largely only visible during periods where lines of communication are important to have between branches, and certainly when you've popped in every few months you've effectively communicated information which would otherwise have been difficult to come by, if we'd thought to seek it out at all. However, only seeing you in staff spaces every few months, even if it's for valuable contributions. I see LordXVNV mentions being informed privately of something wherein you've helped avert a situation of some kind. I'm curious what this is, and if it has been communicated in some way in either staff chat as a whole (maybe one of the ones I alluded to above in February or July) or if not why it hasn't been communicated in some way, even if just to admins via the private ambassador channel that was set up some time ago.

I see in the blurb that your translation efforts ar mentioned, while commendable, and I've seen a fair few of them on INT and on EN, if this is activity for Ambassadors then that is news to me. I've always viewed it in the same way as I do Crit team writing or Discord Team members being a positive presence in the Discord or general community engagement by a staff member in general: it's good to see, and it can make you more effective and more trusted by the community I'm sure but I don't feel comfortable promoting you on your translation efforts alone. This isn't a comment on the quality or quantity of your translations, this is me not understanding why translations would be part of Ambassador work, and if it's something significant why this isn't laid out in some way on the Ambassador Team hub.

In some ways this is primarily a critique of the team itself and an ironic potential failure to communicate rather than of you yourself, but with such a small a team, that's closely interlinked.

Further, there's things outside of those team duties that I would like to see from you in EN staff, which would also further the Ambassador Team's mission IMO. Primarily, this is EN policy discussion. I would like to see more of that from you. If nothing else it could be good to remind EN that in some cases our policies trickle down to affect the INT branches and how that would affect them and being sure we're communicating to INT well when that happens, because we don't really think about that. I'm aware this isn't often the case, but it has happened a few times to my recollection.

In brief, currently I'm against because I have seen very little from you, and if anyone should, aside from Ambassador Team members themselves, it's the admin contact.

Edit: we have since been informed by Naepic that what LORDXVNV mentionned was regarding Tetsuo aiding in a licensing discussion between EN and CN on two separate occasions, one of which lasted about two weeks. This is of course an invaluable contribution and I'm glad to hear about it (and have been cleared to mention it here by Naepic)

Avocadomilk: I checked the earlier promotion cycle threads and I noticed that the main areas of improvement for you last time, aren’t things I recognise in your current performance. Being able to recognise aspects of your behaviour as staff, work on yourself and grow are great traits. I’m happy to support.

Cicada3301Fan: You’re a great positive force and the work you do has been top notch. I also appreciate another warrior in the war for proper use of comma’s! However, I can’t help but wonder what would happen if you showed some teeth every once in a while. Asking questions is good, but I’d love to see you contribute to staff and policy discussion with your own pov. I think you’ve shown a lot of potential, but I’d love to see a bit more of *you* and not just your work. If you further your development in that area, I’m sure you’re a shoe-in for the next promotion cycle. Until then I’ll have to be reluctantly against.

DianaBerry: I’ve seen you hopping around Deer College recently, and I’ve noticed how careful you are in how you approach your work. A little too careful at times. A little more confidence and certainty would suit you well, I think. I was a little reluctant, but you stepping up on Sitenews and your direct steps resulting from Lord’s comment give me enough of a nudge to support.

divinephobia: I’ve seen you make moderation calls and I feel very confident in how you approach it. Over the months I've seen you grow into your role and stay very level-headed during discussions. Also amazing work on the ban queue, deserves to be said. Support.

Erminustay: I’ve seen the work you do, as well as jumping into policy discussions when you see fit and give your two cents. I’ll be able to support.

FlyPurgatorio It’s meeee!!! I’ve already given some self-reflection in my initial blurb, but I wanted to add a thank you to those adding their insights. I take everything to heart, especially points I can learn from to be better at being staff and a member of this community. I haven’t always hit the right note, but I try to learn from it. I definitely recognise getting stuck in the details, and that’ll be an area to focus on as well.
Appreciate you all!

LOVEMARGINAL: I haven’t seen you around much, outside CO for artwork. I absolutely appreciate the work you do there, but just like with Cicada, great work isn’t enough for a promotion to me. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but are you active in other areas of staff, policy discussions or behind-the-scene work? Until then I’ll also have to be (very reluctantly) against.
(With the sidenote that hearing from you about your plans for your current work and/or the OS promotion, would be helpful).

Mew-ltiverse: I have a lot of respect for the work you’ve been putting into IRC, the DC/IRC bridge, and the activity in Deer College. You’re always up for adding to crit policy discussions and I’ve noticed you’re not afraid to go against the grain. I've seen a lot of growth in your approach. My main advice would be to get out of the IRC bubble more (which is something you’re already working on) and allow yourself to look at it from the outside. Be critical of the things you love as well as the things you want to change, and don’t give more than you have. Deserved support.

ParallelPotatoes: A friend! Potato, you’re an absolute powerhouse with everything you do, and you do it with such kindness and care. You bring so much positivity to this community, and I admire you greatly. Please allow yourself to recognise your contribution and be confident in your insights. Getting nominated *twice* should tell you enough here! Obvious support.

scalykitty: This is a hard one to come down on. I know you dipped out due to the unexpected start of law school, which took you away from the team for good reason. I’ve seen you participate in crit policy discussion often when you’re on (before the whole law school stuff started), and you’ve done a lot of work for Flights (also continuing during law school). There have been times I've specifically checked in with you. I have no doubt about your ability to add to policy discussions (although I’d emphasise carefully reading threads and messages) and your contributions to critstaff in the long run. However, I’m concerned about your irl commitments, which are simply way more important, still fresh and not completely settled in. This is mostly a concern about whether you’re able to commit this cycle, or you should focus on getting back in the groove and be ready for next cycle. I fear you're taking on too much atm. I'm not in doubt about your capabilities; you'd be ready, but the timing isn't optimal. I'm going a bit back and forth between abstain and support, so I'll need a bit longer to mull that over.

tetsusquared: I’m not familiar with a lot of the areas you work in, but I trust the opinion of the other staffers on you. I’ll have to abstain.

Edit: fixed italics, some typos and phrasing.

AvocadoMilk You've bounced back from the last promotions cycle phenomenally and have addressed everything thoroughly, that alone is something to be proud of. From what I've seen you do great work, you're level-headed, responsive, and reliable. Support.

Cicada3301Fan: Also with lord, you do good work in MAST, but if you're not giving valuable input to staff processes at large I don't see a reason for you to be OS. Against.

Dianaberry: I've seen some of the things you do on the arts committee and site news and I think OS would be good for you to take on more responsibilities I'm sure you're capable of. Support.

Divinephobia: As a moderator you do your job fantastically, and as an archivist, you do a thankless job yet vital, and I think you need thanks for it. Support.

Erminustay: I can't say I've seen much of what you do, but basing my opinion on what others have said here, I can feel comfortable supporting.

FlyPurgatorio: Calling it now, Fly as admin 2024. Speaking first hand you cover all of your duties incredibly: You're always a voice of reason in crit moderation who does a great job cataloging and storing everything, your work behind the scenes in policy is very impressive and detailed-oriented, and you always bring new ideas to the table. And, of course, your crit is great. My only nitpick is that you put the same amount of thought and effort (a lot) into everything, and not only is this a problem for burnout in the future, but we've had cases where you were very caught up in the details of something and missed the larger picture. Regardless of that admittedly very minor issue: Support.

LOVEMARGINAL: Same as Diana's but without the site news, I'd just like to see you interact a bit with more staff processes. Support.

Mew-ltiverse: IRC's strongest defender, a noble job. I genuinely admire your passion for improving IRC. Support.

ParallelPotatoes: Easiest support of my life. Almost singlehandedly pumps out the site news and still managed to tag over 120 pages. I don't have anything else to add that other people haven't already. Chin up, spud, your crown is falling. Support.

ScalyKitty: I'm so sorry but I can't support a promotion for someone who isn't here to accept it. I understand you're unable to because of real-life things (completely fair and understandable) but being active is a basic requirement for promotion in my opinion. Against.

Tetsusquared: I've never interacted with you, nor have I seen the work you do, no fault of your own of course, a lot of people on -EN rarely look into -INT and I'm sure your job is a thankless one, but that doesn't mean I know what it is. Abstain.

I don't hold strong opinions either way towards most candidates besides my fellow CO members:

DianaBerry has done great work for Site News penning interview questions and such, but what makes her deserving of a promotion is her work on the Art Committee. She may not have been constantly active due to the limited scope of our work, but she has clear and original ideas of expanding it with the ultimate aim of increasing the visibility of visual artists onsite — which I, as an illustrator, definitely stand behind, on the condition that her ambitions solidify into plans. A promotion would enable her to begin her work in a more "official" capacity — support.

ParallelPotatoes, as many others have said, has done astounding work for Site News. They are extremely professional and proactive, setting a stellar example of themself for all new site staff. I am neither on the Site News team nor personally familiar with Potatoes, but professionally they have my trust and respect like no other. Support.

LOVEMARGINAL will be DianaBerry's strongest soldier. Support.

I'm only going to provide input where I feel it's valuable, so I won't be listing every candidate.

Divinephobia: You do good work, and are one of the more active moderators. Support.

FlyPurgatorio: Obvious support. Staff will be better with you on it.

Mew-Itiverse: Your work on IRC has been important, and definitely shows responsibility and desire to improve the community. Support.

Me: Lowkey fell off. On a more serious note, I ran a crit flight in August, and took a break from public crit to focus on that. (Shout out to Hexon555). I started law school at the beginning of September, and wasn't able to get much done with the move and my new schedule. I finally have been getting a handle on things, and I look forward to getting back into the swing of things with crit policy and whatnot.

ParallelPotatoes: Great work with site news, definitely support.

AvocadoMilk - You have improved a bit in the recent months. I respect that you took prior feedback to heart. Support

Cicada3301Fan - I'm with Lord here. You're a positive presence in public spaces, but right now it feels like you're more of a hinderance than a help when it comes to important discussions. I don't know what your opinions are on things, your support almost feels blind at times. As a result, I'm against.

DianaBerry - No strong opinions either way.

divinephobia - You've done good discord work. Support

Erminustay - I've seen the workhorse you've been for licensing. Support

FlyPurgatorio - You serve as an example as to why I hate seasonal promotions. We shouldn't have had to wait so long to promote you. Support

LOVEMARGINAL - No strong opinions either way. I do want to take a moment to say that I don't think promotion should be given purely as recognition for someone's work, promotions are not prizes. Promotions come because someone has earned trust. I understand what the blurb intends here, but I do want to highlight that.

Mew-ltiverse - Working with you on a flight has shown me your ability to self reflect and set actionable goals for yourself. Support

ParallelPotatoes - Excellent work with site news. Support

scalykitty - I'll be honest, I feel like I haven't seen you much at all lately. Am I missing your activity? I looked over your activity in the Discord crit channels and it's extremely sporadic, and generally I don't feel like you're around very often to discuss crit issues/policy. Unfortunately as a result right now I'm against

tetsusquared - I'm not familiar with your work, and have no strong opinions either way as a result.

AvocadoMilk: I see you frequently in 19cord, and you always appear level headed and willing to interact with the community. Support

Cicada3301Fan: I share similar concerns as lord, as I don’t think Ive ever seen you say something negative in a policy discussion. However, I think what your captains have said about your work outweighs that in my book. Tentative Support.

DianaBerry: Im not as familiar as I should be with your Art Committee work, but you’ve been a great help with writing stories for Site News. Id love to see you keep it up. Support.

Divinephobia: Amazing. Showstopping. Incredible. I always see you as a level headed voice on the moderation team, and you do good work with the ban log queues. On a personal level I consider you a good friend. Easy support.

Erminustay: I frequently see you answering licensing questions, and its impressive how much you licensebox. Support.

FlyPurgatorio: Amazing. Showstopping. Incredible. I see you do great work in the discord critique spaces, and I frequently see you interacting with community members in a friendly and helpful manner. Easy support.

LOVEMARGINAL: I frequently see you in CO server working hard on Art Committee. Support.

Mew-Itverse: Ive seen you be a driving force in the IRC crit policy discussions. Support.

scalykitty: I see the work you do and you do it well. There isn’t much I can say that isn’t just echoing you and your captains comments here. Support. Edit: I was basing my statement on the work I’ve seen you do when you first joined, and I was assuming you’ve been keeping up the same level of activity. However, after seeing Ori’s comment about your activity I decided to search 19cord and critcord, and you’ve sent barely any messages in the last month or two. Unless someone brings up an example of recent work you have done, I am switching to against.

tetsusquared: I’m not very familiar with your work. Abstain.

Me! As my captains have stated, I do most of my work on site news and tagging. For tagging, I generally aim to tag 1-2 articles per day, as this is a sustainable workload for me. I’ve enjoyed my tagging work, and I hope to continue doing it. For site news, I am the person who updates most of it each month. Im very proud of the writing prompts section, as I think it will be a good way to boost engagement with the news. One of my goals going forward is to have at least one “interesting” story in each site news, such as an interview with authors or a deep delve into various site topics.

Regarding my area of improvement that nico pointed out in their blurb about me, I really can’t deny it. I definitely have confidence issues, and I am doing my best on a personal level to work through them. If there are any other areas of improvement people have for me in the comments, I will address them as they come up.

On a personal level, I’m very honored to be put up for promotion, especially considering I’ve only been staff for a few months. I really enjoy my staff work, and Im appreciative of the opportunity to become operational staff.

AvocadoMilk: Really picked it up over the last months. Avo is a very active and level-headed member of the Discord Moderation team. Great work. Support.

Cicada3301Fan: I'm not familiar with Cicada's work so I can't speak on that. The captain assessment looks acceptable and I'll take that as a good showing of their activity. Cicada has been active in staffchat as well, which is always a plus. Tentative support.

DianaBerry: The arist showcase always looks solid. I do think there is room for a bit more roles here, especially this being CO. I can tentatively support here.

divinephobia: Does great work that is grueling but needed. Easy support.

Erminustay: Does great work that is grueling but needed. Easy support.

FlyPurgatorio: Fly is extremely active in Discord crit and does really great work. I got into a small spat with Fly a few weeks ago over a difference in opinion. Fly reached out to me, explained their perspective, and we mutually apologized for the way we spoke to each other. This was a great show of character. Fly gets an easy support from me.

LOVEMARGINAL: Same as Lord. Support.

Mew-ltiverse: I can't speak much on IRC Crit as I'm not that active there. I'll accept the Captain assessment. With what happened with IRC crit a few weeks ago and how tumultuous the team was looking, Mew taking the reigns there as a J-staff to support a smaller, less-focused-on area of the site is extremely selfless and thankless. Support.

ParallelPotatoes: The Site News is extremely hard work. I remember when I first joined the Site we wouldn't see July's site news until September. Managing to streamline this process and get the news out in a timely manner gets my support alone, on top of the statements from their MAST captains that really seal the deal. Great member of staff here. Support.

scalykitty: I trained Scaly as part of a flight a few months ago. They were a very strong critter from the outset, listening to my comments and emphasizing their work in areas I said they needed to improve. From what I remember, they gave me all 16 pieces of critique I required on time and with questions. I've received critique from Scaly on my own projects as well, and it's always solid, comprehensive, and had great ideas. During the flight, Scaly was adamant about becoming part of the Moth Squad, and they achieved it easily within a 14-day-long flight period. Scaly was a joy to work with and is still one of my favorite officers to this day. Easy support, he's earned it.

tetsusquared: I'm going to tentatively abstain here as Tetsu is not someone I'm familiar with them professionally or personally. I agree with Nico that I'd like them to be a bit more involved.

This is a very strong batch of candidates that I for the most part fully endorse. Particular standouts for me are ParallelPotatoes and FlyPurgatorio. They are both excellent at their job and do great work in their respective teams.

The only candidate I'm iffy on is Tetsu, but even then I know that they are very diligent over on the INT side of things. I just wish they had more of a voice in staff matters on our end of things.

Mostly the ways I’m thinking about are perhaps some contests of some form, but I’m not quite sure what or how. I just think the art committee being involved in more art contests and contests in general could get us more out there and expand the team. Featuring on the front page is great, but it doesn’t get every artist. Of course it’s impossible to do that, but I think some contests centered more around art in particular could help. Along with attempting to feature more art in wiki projects, moderated by the art team. We definitely need more recruits as well. Hopefully this is the type of information you were asking for. I don’t have in-depth ideas for anything, just general that I’ll likely bring to discuss with the committee.

AvocadoMilk: I was harsh on Avocadomilk during the last promotions round, but I genuinely think there's been good progress towards improvement. My observations anecdotally support the captain consensus. Support.

Cicada3301Fan: I have never seen a negative sentiment or opinion from Cicada3301Fan and they always have a positive attitude. On an interpersonal level, this would be a good thing. However, I'd like to believe that being a member of OS requires a level of discernment, judgment, and opposition to what one perceives as bad policy. I just don't have any evidence to support the belief that they'd be productive and discerning in policy discussions especially those pertaining to the future direction of the site, as opposed to consistently approving all policy no matter the form. I would personally prefer for them to spend the next promotion cycle as JS and weighing in more on policy discussions by asking questions instead of being expected to rise to the occasion upon promotion. Against.

DianaBerry: If there is anywhere it would be appropriate to discuss your plans for the future should you be promoted, it is here. Support/Abstain borderline leaning towards support.

divinephobia: Div does good work with the porting of discord records to 05. It's work I wish could be automated but so long as it isn't, it deserves credit. Aside from that when they show up in moderation or on 05

Erminustay: Does good and diligent work in licensing in a way that even I can notice. Support.

FlyPurgatorio: I can agree with Dagon's assessment and also Fly's self assessment. In the future I'd like to hope to see double-checking of potentially sensitive claims before repeating them on 05. However this was one isolated incident against a history of good performance. Support.

LOVEMARGINAL: Does good work on the art committee in a way I can notice. Support.

Mew-ltiverse: I respect the passion and initiative Mew has taken with regards to IRC Crit. Support.

ParallelPotatoes: I see ParallelPotatoes' work in the CO server for site news, and they are diligent. Support

scalykitty: I agree with both Pedagon's assessment and scalykitty's self-assessment. Support.

tetsusquared: I'm ambiguous. I like Tetsu as a person, mostly, and they are 100% very active in porting translations. I just wish there were 1 or 2 concrete examples of a specific incident where they clarified cultural context. edit: I've been informed privately about a specific situation where Tetsu's expertise helped resolve a situation without issue. Support.

I also hope we can get some comments on the mainsite mirror about our nominees, particularly the ones on public-facing teams (CO, ambassadors, Discord). I'd hope they left some positive impression on the community given the nature of their roles.

First of all, it’s an honor to be nominated. I’ve been on staff for I think like 3 years or so and this is the first time I think I actually deserve to be nominated. Most of my work is behind the scenes, so I understand if you all haven’t seen me around. It’s also on IRC, so those who don’t use it also probably haven’t seen it. But I’m incredibly passionate about a revival for IRC crit, and IRC as a whole. It’s a platform that is near and dear to me, due to it being the only offical chatroom for SCP when I joined. My career as an author flourished due to the critique and support from IRC. I’ve seen many people come and go during my time here, worked with many wonderful people, and it’s all thanks to IRC. So seeing that IRC has been dying recently has been very sad to see. So I decided it’s time we do something about it. After Dagon suggested an idea I almost suggested myself about an IRC bridge with discord, I’ve been prominent in moderating the discussion and progress of the bridge in question. I’ve also proposed other policy changes and have been keeping my eye on the IRC chats as a moderator, and whenever I see someone from discord on IRC, I tell them how happy I am to see them there!

I have some anxiety problems, which can cause me to get really anxious and sometimes refrain from commenting, which I’ve been working on, and I think part of that work has payed off with me doing my best to make my voice heard. I personally think I’ve deserved this nomination, but I also know I’ve got some areas to improve. I hope that I can do that regardless of whether you accept me as operational staff. Thank you for the consideration, as that itself is an honor.

I think parallel potatoes has done an amazing job with the site news, and is well deserving of this promotion.

Fly has been nothing but a wonderful addition to the discord team, and I think they’re definitely worthy of promotion. They haven’t been staff for long, but they’ve made their mark for every moment they’ve been staff.

I’ve seen Erminusay do a great job with licensing during my time on that team, as well!

Everyone else I don’t have anything specific to say, I just think we’re all worthy of promotion!

AvocadoMilk: Hi, that's me. I understand that a lot of staff are hesitant to promote me because of immaturity in the past, but I genuinely think I have grown past those experiences. I'm a considerably active member of the Discord team and you can see that by checking the private-server-moderation channel (which all staff can see by the way) or looking at the mods involved in each ban in moderation-actions. I also contributed to the discussions about the restructuring of the Discord team, and voiced my opinions on their respective threads, including a recent issue regarding one of our captains. Although I have a lot to improve upon in terms of activeness, I do think I am capable to being an OS. Thank you!

divineophobia: Right of the bat, I 100% support promoting div to OS. They've been a vital and prolific member of the discord team, especially in terms of the maintenance of the Ban Log Queue. One of the more active members as well, someone I can see being promoted to Discord Admin the future.

Erminustay: Also supporting this candidate. I see them a lot in Staffcord or help-desk, asking for pages to be unlocked to add license boxes and remove images. I do have a slight problem with maturity problems in the past, but that does not change my decision.

FlyPurgatorio: Supporting this candidate as well, I see them do a lot of great work in moderating the Discord crit spaces and also just being a genuinely active member of the discord. They frequently bring up issues in the private crit spaces, and also public when applicable.

ParallelPotatoes: Para does an absolutely great job on both of their teams. For the former, site news, they've interviewing users, created segments and so much more to help out the team.. In terms of their work on MAST, I've seen them helping users out in the help-desk channel in the Official Server, and also considering the fact that they've tagged over 120 pages within the past two months, I support promoting them to OS.

Scalykitty: Another very active member of the Discord crit team, participating in discussions about users and the crit space in general. I support this candidate as well.

I've skipped the users that I haven't seen enough of, but I'm sure they are great at what they do and also deserve to be promoted. Good luck to all the other candidates!

Being a part of Junior Staff has immensely helped me help others, and so being considered for a member of Operational Staff is something that I always will be thankful of. If I do become a member of Operational Staff, I would use my position to help others, and I know the other candidates would do the same!

I will work on my area of improvement, which is activeness in forums and discussions such as these.
Wanted to say that I support AvocadoMilk and ParallelPotatoes for promotion!

AvocadoMilk has been a fairly consistent presence within 19cord's staff since I've joined the server, and I trust their judgment in just about any situation when it comes to moderation concerns.

ParallelPotatoes does wonderfully with the site news every month, and I know their work ethic is off the charts. I think a promotion is well-deserved for him.

For myself, I feel I could probably be more active in day-to-day moderation, and I could certainly stand to be more consistent when it comes to upkeep for the ban log. I check in on the moderation channels a few times per day, but dont really deal with active situations as much as I feel is ideal for my position and the free time I have available.

That is all I have to say, good luck to everyone!

Firstly, I want to say I’m honored for the nomination! Thank you very much to my team captain!

I’ve always wanted to be more active in community outreach, and I saw the art committee as a good choice for me, as I love art and supporting the artists of the community. I had actually been considering trying to pitch some ways to expand the team. Mostly, I’d like to see the team reach a wider audience. I think there are several ways we could do this, which I won’t get into here. Thank you very much and I promise to keep up the work even if not promoted! I would like to mention that I have a lack of confidence which prevents me from interacting more than I do. I feel like my courage will grow if I have the opportunity to do more.

I’d like to comment about my fellow art committee member, LOVEMARGINAL. She definitely deserves it, as I can tell she’s passionate about this. She does an excellent job, and I hope to see her promoted.

ParallelPotatoes has done so much work for the site news, and really has helped me get back into the swing of things on the site news after I took a break. They definitely know what they’re doing, though I agree they could be more confident.

He's worked with his Section Head to implement changes to some of the popular collaborative logs - such as marking K-Class Scenarios that have more than 100 uses, as well as participating productively in conversations regarding policies and procedures for Collaboration Pages. He's also been one of our most active members in assisting those in the MAST help desk, either by providing accurate information or pointing users in the correct direction. Fly has taken on many roles as a JS on Discord Critique Team and helped keep things running smoothly whenever I haven't been able to be around. Fly's major skills as Discord Critique Staff include their willingness to challenge viewpoints and call out other staff when necessary for making the team's actions fair and just. Fly also has expressed goals for improving the accessibility of critique on the wiki through making critique resources more accessible to writers of all levels and keeping critique spaces safe and empathetic. As an OS, Fly will be able to expand their skills of improving accessibility and challenging dominant views across more levels of decision-making. These aspect's of fly's approach to staff would make them a fantastic OS promotion.

Optional areas of improvement:

Fly is an extremely reflective person so, like I do with all my staff, I invited them to propose their own areas of growth: "’I've been known to bite down on things I feel strongly about and get ahead of myself, so my main challenge is taking a breather and “going with the flow” a bit more, both for myself and others. I need to safeguard not burning out and taking breaks/asking for help if needed. As for my communication: I’ve been working hard on making it more concise while filing off the rough edge that is partly my Dutch directness, and partly my personality. I am aware I still have more to go." I believe that these areas of growth go extremely well with being an OS as fly will be able to delegate responsibility more often and participate in deeper discussions that work well with fly's communication approach as fly's directness would go well with the difficult conversations OS are expected to engage in.

Junior Staff Member:

LOVEMARGINAL

Captain/Team:

CO - Art Committee(Jerden)

Why:

Lovemarginal has been a great help as part of the Community Outreach Art Committee, selecting works to be featured on the artist showcase and making sure they get posted on time at the start of each month. This includes writing the editorials, managing the automator, and maintaining the workbench, all in a super timely fashion. The news hasn't been out this fast in years, and it's all because of their hard work. And on top of that, they have recently begun a new writing prompt project on the News as well. Aside from their Community Outreach duties, Potatoes also frequently participates in policy discussions and helps out in #help-desk in 19cord. All in all, Potatoes has been a good addition to Staff in their brief time with us.

Optional areas of improvement:

I would like to see Potatoes be more confident in themselves, but that will come as they grow more accustomed to the Staff structure.

Junior Staff Member:

ParallelPotatoes

Captain/Team:

MAST (Deadly Bread & torcsandantlers)

Why:

Potatoes is on MAST's Tagging subteam, and in the last two months they've tagged more than 120 new pages while catching pages that have been incorrectly tagged. They're a powerhouse of work and conscientious in their actions, and I believe that we will be rewarded by giving them further responsibility.

Optional areas of improvement:

N/A

Junior Staff Member:

scalykitty

Captain/Team:

Discord Crit (Pedagon)

Why:

Scalykitty is a fantastic member of Discord Critique Team. While their activity has wavered due to irl commitments, they have been involved long-term with many discord critique initiatives that are aiming to improve the space from a larger viewpoint. This desire to improve things at a policy or grand level is what I believe makes scalykitty a fantastic candidate for OS promotion. By giving scalykitty the opportunity to vote on policy, I believe that they will blossom and thrive into policy discussions far beyond just our team. As well, they have been active in the critique flight system which speaks to their desire for increasing engagement with the community and recognizing the role of staff as stewards of the community's needs.

Optional areas of improvement:

As part of this process, I asked Scalykitty to propose their own areas of growth: "I'd like to work on managing burnout. i havent crit anything on discord in a while because of class, and im working on finding a way to juggle everything sustainably. id also like to get more comfortable commenting on things on O5 and staffcord" while these may be issues for engagement at a team level, scaly has often approached staffing from a more long-term viewpoint anyway so I do not believe these would limit their ability as OS. In fact, their ability to recognize when they need to decrease availability and reorient themselves to avoid burning out makes them exactly the kind of person we should want voting on policy and thinking far beyond immediate issues. Overall, I believe scalykitty is a fantastic candidate for OS promotion

Junior Staff Member:

tetsusquared

Captain/Team:

Ambassadors (Jerden)

Why:

Tetsusquared has been a member of the ambassador team for a while now, and has been a great help to the team for communications with the Chinese and Japanese branches.
