While I was not very involved in the ARC decision, Dex and Moose represent my opinion well enough. I wont be taking this as precedent either.

That said, I won't vote against this because I don't think there's anyone who wants to rewrite the gay bomb. And it does need a rewrite to be worthwhile.

Although I probably wouldn't upvote it now simply because it's so much easier to rewrite things and I don't like the addenda playing this for laughs.

FYI, many of the people who wanted to keep this article were queer, including myself (though I will not publicly out anyone else, and I'll thank y'all not to speculate if you don't already know).

2011-era queer staff & community members are the reason this community is safe for queer people at all, and we went through a lot of pain to do that, and some of us found that pain echoed in this SCP, as badly written as it is.

Your hatred is valid. Please don't be unkind to us because you hate this SCP.

This will not be held by me as a stage-setting decision regarding -ARC SCPs going forward. I am possibly one of the biggest proponents of archival on staff and consider them generally harmless and by far unnecessarily focused upon. They harm nothing and frankly I think it should be used more, or at least employed extraordinary circumstances.

But engh… I suppose an exception can be made for the Gay Bomb. And there's an -ex rewrite apparently, anyway.

252 arc is cringe

To this day, I still don't know what the hell 2011 Staff was thinking and I just re-read the article and think it's, in addition of the blatant homophobia, incredibly stupid and not worth the -ARC designation. So, yeah, unarchival. And if we can also delete it, it would be cool, also. No reason for it to stay.

It does not play a central role in the narrative of any of these pages. As far as I can tell, there was no reason for its archival beyond staff at the time liking the article.

I am proposing the unarchival and likely deletion of this article because of its lack of any real historical significance, its incredibly low rating (-75 at time of writing) which suggests it's not remotely popular with the community, and most importantly the fact that it's somewhat homophobic, using homosexuality as the punchline of a joke.
