Upon discussion in opchat I decided to commute the ban to 6 months with a caveat. The following PM was sent to Dr-SquirreltoonsDr-Squirreltoons:

Good day,

In consideration of your ban, I have decided to commute the length of the ban to 6 months. It is clear to me that you should take some time to consider your behavior and how it reflects upon you. There are consequences to our actions, some big and some small. That being said, I appreciate the level of self-awareness that your apologies have showcased, but even the best apology can be nothing but words if they are not backed up by an improvement in behavior.

I am willing to give you a chance to showcase improved behavior in 6 months rather than a full year. However, there will be no further warnings from chatstaff. If you act up and are disruptive again in our chatrooms, the ban will be immediately reinstated and you will have to serve the remaining six months of your ban, at minimum.

It is my fervent hope that you take this opportunity to build upon your self awareness, to learn from a situation where the stakes are relatively low, and to take this lesson with you moving forward.
