How many authors are on the SCP website?

There have been, over the entire history of the site, at least 757 authors, and probably around 800 by now. I can give a more precise number in ten hours or so.

For the past 3 years, there have been around 150 authors active on the site at any given time.

I have no background or education in the containment and securing of supernatural anomalies. My background and education in creative writing is a Bachelor's in history and a bunch of fanfic writing since I was a kid.

What is your position in regard to this field?

I have no position in regards to in the containment and securing of supernatural anomalies. My position on the wiki is one of many Administrators. My job is to encourage a healthy community on the site, encourage the fandom off the site, and to maintain order among the site's userbase.

What expertise can you bring to this subject?

I have no expertise in regards to in the containment and securing of supernatural anomalies. As a writer, I've done some freelance work for pen and paper roleplaying games and online blogs.

What is your first-hand knowledge of this subject?

I have no first-hand knowledge in regards to in the containment and securing of supernatural anomalies. As a writer, I write a lot. Every day. And I spent a lot of time filling out official forms and making out memos, so I'm kind of used to the type of language that these official documents use.

Please give your opinion as to my research topic.

It should be fun but I'm not sure what there is really to say about us. We're just a bunch of creative writers sharing a universe.

Since 2008.

There are no paranormal objects actually under containment by a secret organization. However, some SCP objects use real-world events and concepts in order to seem more "real" to the reader. Examples of these would be SCP-2137 and SCP-1851-EX. Also, certain of our "creepypasta" horror stories are based on real-life events experienced by our writers.

I forgot to tell you those. I have to ask you those question, those are the one that my English teachers wants asked. One you can not answer because I forgot to tell you my topic. My topic is are SCP real or not? Which of coarse I know they are not so what I am really looking at is how well made this website is, thought is logs, warnings, and just they how many layers there are to this website that really makes people think this is real. But, the other 4 question are just some information on the person or people in this cause that I am interview. I would like answer, but like I said if you do not wish for the information to be shared in my paper just let me know and my teacher will be the only one seeing it other then me.

oh and to the other message about how many people. As many as the people who want to do. I am happy for more input from different people, because it will really help make this a really great paper.

How about we have different staff split up the non-opinion questions? I feel like that would be the most efficient way to go about this, since some of the questions ask for knowledge that isn't common.

No SCPs, but there are works posted that are not fiction, notably one or two tales by Yoric (marked as non-fiction).

As a side note, it might be fun to make a "non-fiction" tag.

I've sent a PM asking for clarification on the "subject" questions, but in the meantime, it's essentially a free-for-all. If someone wants to respond, I guess they can just PM the user! (it'd be nice if people could post their answers here though?)

I'm personally not up for giving out my real name, so I might sit this one out, though I do plan on answering the SCP-111 question since I handled the Dragonsnails thing.

I need one, but if there is one person who would like to give me there input I would be more then happy to interview them.

Yes I've read those pages. I did not know there was different levels of staff members. But I don't think the level matters. And I forgot to add in message that I may need to do fallow up if the person does not mind. Thank you for helping me this.

Edit: Sent them a reply saying yes there is interest, and asking how many respondents they want for the paper.

Hello my name is [blanked]. I am doing an English paper about the SCP website. I was wondering if you or someone you know that work for the site be willling to do an Interview this weekend?

Their response:

I just need to interview someone for my english project, and volunteers are ok they do not have to be paid. The interview should not take very long. I was thinking I could just email my questions and they can be answered when ever the person is free. I would just be sending them this weekend. There shouldn't be anything that they need before hand, I am just looking for infomation about the website and how it works.

Thoughts? Also, if anyone's uncomfortable with the way I handled this, feel free to let me know. I wasn't totally on board with agreeing outright to the interview, since this user doesn't have any site activity I can gauge behavior on. I'd rather that the interview, if/when it happens, is done with minimal exchange of personal info.
