The goofy app makes more sense now that I know Drewbear already rejected them for the same reason. Everything in their app had a parenthetical claiming it was "valid", IE the listed location had "(Valid Location)" or something along those lines after it. That's what I meant by goofy. It seems they didn't pay careful attention to why they were rejected.

Someone else applied under the account "whocaresaboutnames" shortly after I went through apps. Someone else got their app while I was away; it may be a coincidence, but I wondered if it's the same person. (They aren't the same account; also, the whocaresaboutnames account has an actual name listed & icon up, so it may not be the same persona at all.)

I don't know how "goofy" the app was, but the fact that they obviously ignored a specific app reject message doesn't really convince me that they'd be a productive member on the site.

Oh for crying out loud. I denied this person earlier in the week for the same reason (inappropriate username) and SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED that it was because of the username and why they needed to change it.

I've denied the application of the user "Level 6 Clearance" for having an inappropriate username (the app was really goofy, but it was otherwise valid).

Normally with ambiguous usernames like this, I sign onto IRC to let other admins know and check what they think, but I can't get on IRC right now, so posting here instead. If you think I should've allowed this username, let me know that you think so.
