Personally I believe that either of the appeals should have been accepted. Not accepting them on the basis that it was "too soon" or interpreting their apology to say something it does not flies in the face of even giving the chance for an appeal. If an apology won't be accepted, then the chance for appeal is simply a lie.

As much as I can appreciate their stated remorse, I cannot help but see it more as "I am sorry I got punished" rather than "I will never do this again." Frankly, there must be consequences for this action that cannot simply be wiped a way with a plaintive apology.

I do not have much to say this time other than I am still remorseful, and hold myself accountable. As a writer, I look back with complete embarrassment at the actions of my past self. It is behavior I absolutely denounce.

I ask for a second chance to be part of the wiki again. It still holds a special place to me. I miss being a part of its community. You have every reason to doubt me, and I would too if I was in your position. Nothing can ever change what happened but people can. I humbly wish for a chance to prove myself even if I am in no position to ask for the opportunity. Despite that a part of me hopes to reconcile for the past and be among my peers again, especially stormbreath.

Regardless of what is decided, I am grateful to at least be heard. I cannot apologize enough for my actions.

So, I like to first start by acknowledging my actions. What I did was plagiarism. That's what it was then, and still is now. Simply no denying it. I have long since issued an apology to Stormbreath, and took their advice on thinking about the wrong I have done. I been so ashamed for I have written a few original articles that people have enjoyed. I could've been better than that. So much better.

I guess I did what I did because I was envious of someone about to make a lore heavy entry with two prominent characters in an iconic log on the site, and I acted irresponsibly. I forget that we are all a community with plenty of room for each interpretation to be shared among each other.

Furthermore, I want to shed light upon the thread I made which is linked in my disciplinary thread. Varaxous and dankaar make it seem I created the thread and then proceeded to add the plagiarized entry into the log despite the general response to the thread. That actually wasn't the case. The entry was posted on the log on January 6 while the thread was created on the 8th. By that time, I forgot I made the edit, as I tend to do with small log entries in collaborative pages from time to time. Also, at the time, I was busy with personal stuff which generally occupied my thoughts. I tend to forget the numbers to my own articles though that likely is not very unique to me.

In the interest of full disclosure and transparency, the reason I created that thread was because of a draft I critiqued on the forums one time. I remembered the draft that day of the thread's creation and went to see if it ever got posted. I was sad to discover it never was and the author dropped off the face of the earth. Below is the critique thread of the draft which sprung the idea for me to start that thread. Note, I am unable to see the thread's contents due to my ban so I may mistakenly link the wrong thread, by the way.

Yeah, I genuinely didn't create the thread with malicious intentions or in any relation to my act of plagiarism. It just saddened me greatly so many ideas never make it out to be appreciated by others. If you looked in the thread, when Stormbreath posted, I started to understand my proposition was perhaps not a good idea by saying that they made compelling arguments. I was pretty close to openly conceding with everyone if the conversation went on, but I think that is when the thread was locked, preventing any further posts. I don't exactly remember.

I then forgot about the thread for I often posted in the forums so I didn't bother to remember it. After a couple days, I think, I remembered the entry and did some minor grammar edits before completely forgetting it until January 22, when my ban was issued.

Overall, I admit that I am not proud of what occurred. I don't have much else to say other than sorry for I really did fail to uphold the values of the community which I enjoy. It was an insult to the integrity the site represents. I understand that clearly.

In the thread you mentioned, Baronjoe was talking about lifting material from a sandbox of people who were no longer an active member of the SCP community (longtime inactivity or quitting), and turning it into a SCP.

stormbreath, as it is obvious by his current posting history, doesn't fall into the "inactive member" category.

So not only did Baronjoe go ahead and do something the entire community told him was a bad idea, he went ahead and lifted material from a source that he wouldn't have been allowed to lift from in the first place, based on his earlier argument.

The overwhelming response from both staff and normal user alike was in no unclear terms “hell no.” Not just that, but stormbreath himself posted on thread, staunchly against it (http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-9882180/abandoned-drafts-of-long-gone-authors#post-4113933)

Despite all that, it seems that he still made the decision to go ahead and do exactly what he was told not to.

Varaxous's post clearly demonstrates they knew that what they were doing was viewed as utterly unacceptable by staff and the wiki userbase at large.
