That's meant giving up on some ambitions and long-term hopes in the name of stability. One of my more recent findings was that I'm holding onto hobbies for far too long, out of some sense of obligation or sunk cost, I don't know which. But it's been a constant thing, to not want to let past hobbies just be things I used to do. I've tried to hold on to all of them and keep them all moving forward forever, and it's just exhausting. I think it's healthiest for me if this was one of those things I used to do.

I'm proud of all of you and the growth of the site over the last 14 or so years. I appreciate getting to be a part of it.

My plan for this is to move to adjunct staff while I still own scpwiki.com, and figure out a number of details related to things I'm running or operating for the wiki. I will admit, part of this is financially motivated. I spend a couple thousand dollars a year on the combination of the wiki and the Wikijump project and I frankly need to cut my costs. There's not going to be a deadline or drop-dead date for this transition. Any progress will help. I haven't decided whether I want to move to a full retirement after that transition is handled, I suspect it will depend on the amount of interaction I have with people in the meantime. I hold no ill will towards the wiki and if push came to shove, I would move to act if things needed to be done urgently. But I just have no interest in the day-to-day at this point, and an administrator shouldn't really feel that way.

I am retiring from all of my staff roles, effective immediately.

Any captaincy/vice-captaincy that I held has already been coordinated with the teams, and/or a replacement has been found already, so I can only hope that things are not left in the lurch as a result of this.

I'm sorry that I won't be here for the remainder of the Bright Works Project, but I trust that the team will be able to see it the rest of the way through — I'm just glad that I did what I did.

I really enjoyed my two years with the wiki, and my time on staff. I never wanted it to end like this, but here we are.

I am stepping down from Internet Outreach Captain, as I have been relatively inactive in the position, and my life circumstances are pushing me further offline. I will still remain a member of the team for the foreseeable future, just not in a leadership capacity.

I am promoting pr0m37h3um to Captain in my place. I have full faith and confidence in her to fulfill the duties bestowed upon the team.

I’ve been less active on staff for awhile, and it started last October. For the past 5 or so months, I’ve been low key active, and have been doing things such as the occasional moth squad and butterfly squad critique (even though that isn’t staff work) and have been contributing to the site news here and there, and occasionally voting on staff matters.

My inactivity can be explained by a lot of things, but I’ll keep it simple and say: lack of motivation, chronic illness. But my motivation is coming back, so I’m hoping to show my face around here full time again for now, while still balancing my other hobbies.

I hope to be of help on my staff teams and any other areas I can be once again.

I have decided to go ahead and retire from my position on the staff team. During my time, I have incredibly enjoyed the work and appreciated the many friends I have made along the way. Whether it was a site restructure, team renaissance, or contest preparation, my time with the SCP Wiki staff has been a wonderful experience in which I will be forever grateful.

Certainly, my early days as staff were more action packed whereas the last couple of years have largely been my input on things here and there from behind the scenes. I am happy to say that Naepic is a very worthy successor for CO and has made me incredibly proud as we have worked together. As life goes on, I have other pursuits in my life that I am excited to take on, so now is the time step down.
