Over the course of a few months, I've assembled some template PMs and forums copypasta for staffy business. Some do require some filling-out on the part of the staff member sending them, but they can be altered easily if needed. The opening greetings of the PMs are up to the sender's discretion. ~Zyn
Forums Comments
Author, if you haven't already, make sure to create a [http://scpsandbox2.wikidot.com/ sandbox page] for yourself. Any drafts you write up should be placed there and shown to the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/chat-guide IRC chat] and/or the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/c-50864/help:drafts-and-critiques drafts forums] for feedback //prior// to a mainsite post. You'd avoid a lot of negativity by doing this (and you'd also be following the rules).
Instead of replying to your own comments, edit your previous post using the "edit" function under the "options" tab to the lower right of every comment. That prevents spam buildup, and it's in the rules.
Instead of posting multiple short comments, edit your previous posts using the "edit" function under the "options" tab to the lower right of every comment. That prevents spam buildup, and it's in the rules.
//No full drafts in the forums, please. Make a [http://scpsandbox2.wikidot.com/ sandbox page], put your draft there, and link it from the thread.//
As per [http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-594642 this thread], "Necroposting is defined as the act of posting a response to someone, or in a thread, that has been expired for some time, usually anything older then four or five months. The Staff has no problem with reviving old threads, as long as you're adding something to it." It's alright to revive old threads so long as you're contributing something worthwhile.
If you're ever unsure about an edit, feel free to post on the corresponding discussion page or contact a staff member before making the edit.
Please keep discussion focused on the draft itself, which is the purpose of this thread. If you have a personal issue with the critique others have given, take it to PMs.
Maybe read over [http://www.scp-wiki.net/mackenzie-pitfalls#toc6 this guide] to get an idea of what elements to avoid putting in an SCP article. The blackboxing is a little sloppy--I'd recommend reading over [http://www.scp-wiki.net/zen-and-the-art-of-data-expunged this guide] to fix that. Humanoids are actually pretty difficult to write successfully; if you're //really// set on writing one, then take a look at [http://www.scp-wiki.net/so-you-want-to-write-a-humanoid-scp-object this handy guide].
You don't need to ask and wait for staff to delete a work of yours, if you want it gone. As per the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/deletions-guide deletion guidelines], "Authors have the ability to delete their own work at any time. This is accomplished by clicking “Options” at the bottom of the page, clicking “Delete”, and selecting checkbox for, “Delete Completely.” Be sure to select “Delete Completely,” as a failure to do this does not remove the page, it simply renames it. These deletions should be announced in the current deletions thread in the Announcements forum, just like any other deletion."
The forums tend to move rather slowly, and it can take up to a week to get multiple reviews. If you haven't already, I'd recommend trying the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/chat-guide IRC chatroom] for real-time feedback. Alternatively, you can message a staff member and ask them to direct chat attention to your thread.
Criticism-Relevant
Standard Cease-and-Desist for unhelpful feedback:
Given that staff has repeatedly needed to address your feedback because it has been unhelpful, please refrain from giving any further critique on forum drafts and ideas until you have written a successful piece for the mainsite.
++++ This is a closed staff post. Do not reply if you are not staff.
Behavioral Official Warning (modify as necessary for vehemency, spam, trolling, etc.)
Given that this is not the first time staff has needed to address your feedback for violating the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/criticism-policy Criticism Policy], you are now receiving an Official Warning. If you continue to exhibit unnecessarily vehement behavior, further infractions will result in a ban from the site.

Staff PM
Unauthorized/unnecessary edit(s):
It's come to staff attention that your recent edits to the site, namely on [url pagename] were unnecessary. Grammatical edits are appreciated, but remember to consider an author's original intent before making edits, and please be more careful when changing articles. As such, while punctuation and spelling can be corrected, keep in mind that style points should remain as they are.
If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me or another staff member.
Plagiarism:
It's come to staff attention that your most recent article on the site, [(serieslistlink) here], appears to be plagiarized from (original source), as several elements of your article were identical to elements of the (source). As such, your article is going to be summarily deleted, and staff are currently deliberating the course of action to take with you personally. You will hear from a staff member about our decision within the next couple of days.
If you have any further questions, feel free to PM a staff member.
Image uploaded to SCP Series lists:
It's been noticed that you uploaded an image to the files associated with the SCP Series list (the page is [(serieslistlink) here]). If you want to have an image hosted on the site, please upload the image to the actual article page that the image will be used on, or use [http://scpsandbox2.wikidot.com/ a sandbox page] if your article is still in the draft stage (you'll need to reupload when you create the article on the mainsite). Generally, images are not supposed to be hosted on the Series 1 or Series 2 lists, and staff members routinely remove such images as part of site maintenance.
If the images you've uploaded are gone by the time you read this message, you'll find them [http://05command.wikidot.com/misplaced-images here]. If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me or another staff member.
Unnecessary Reply to Staff Post(s): (note: these can be sent as PMs or used in the forums. If PM, copypaste both paragraphs. If forums, just the second paragraph.)
It's come to staff attention that you've posted to a deletion vote. Unless you want to request a stay of deletion or ask for the opportunity to rewrite, do not respond to deletion votes.
As per the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/site-rules Site Rules] and [http://www.scp-wiki.net/guide-for-newbies required reading], if you're not a staff member, please don't vote on articles that have passed deletion threshold. If you have further questions, feel free to PM a staff member.

It's come to staff attention that you've replied to a comment after a stop order was given.
As per the [http://www.scp-wiki.net/site-rules Site Rules] and [http://www.scp-wiki.net/guide-for-newbies required reading], if a staff member has called a stop to the current comment discussion, do not continue the conversation. Repetitive failure to adhere to this will result in bans or revocation of membership. If you have further questions, feel free to contact a staff member.
Behavior Warning:
It's come to staff attention that you've been unnecessarily vehement towards other users, specifically in [url this post]. Seeing as you've already been contacted by staff for similar behavior, I am now giving you an official warning. Do not engage in this sort of behavior again, as your continued site membership is now under review.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me or another staff member.
Bans for bad forums feedback: (for admins!)
It has come to staff attention that you've been repeatedly giving unproductive critique on the forums, necessitating that staff members step in and explain why your feedback is not helpful.
As you have already been contacted by a staff member regarding this behavior, you are now banned from the site for twenty-four hours. You are free to re-apply for membership once this period is over.
If you have any further questions, you may message a staff member.

Revocation of Membership
Your membership on the SCP Foundation wiki has been revoked at this time due to a failure to act maturely, post coherently, or act in line with the site's rules. This is not a ban and you are free to reapply in 24 hours, but we strongly recommend re-reading the Site Rules and Newbie Guide pages and re-familiarizing yourself with the behavior we expect from our members. The O5 thread regarding this (and the relevant reading) is linked below.
