I'm making a new thread for this.
Echo recently edited ghostchibi's guide to mental illness, removing a sentence and calling it "Grammar." Now, admittedly, the guide has problems. But Echo did not consult with ghostchibi or any moderators or admins before making the edit. This wouldn't be a huge deal, except that he's had a long history of infractions. See here, here, here, and here. Oh, and here too. I don't think we ever made a log of the racist .tells he was sending Moose, despite having been asked to stop, but that was a thing too.
What's more, there was already discussion about fixing the article. A number of others had been discussing these exact problems with ghostchibi, and other people were bringing them up in the thread. This is something Echo could have discovered by asking someone involved.
For these reasons, I'm recommending demoting Echo from Operational Staff. Until the decision is made, his authority is being held in abeyance. NOTE: Only administrators, moderators, and operational staff can participate in this discussion.
EDIT: It should be mentioned that the sentence was a part of the essay Echo disagreed with. So the deletion was ideologically driven. Labeling it as grammar was, at best, an attempt to sneak the edit in without people noticing. He and ghostchibi have had problems before, once leading ghostchibi to leave the site for several months, and she has asked him to leave her alone. Moreover, the deletion was an abuse of power. I looked it over, and it was not an accident. It was Echo deliberately breaking a rule because he disagreed with the essay, and then lying about the reason. There's no possibility in my mind that this wasn't deliberate.
