User Myriad just posted a thread requesting that we update the Staff List in the Guide to Newbies to reflect recent promotions and restructuring. I hate to suggest we add any more content to the Guide, but the dude's got a point. Perhaps we could make the new staff structure clear elsewhere?
I like the idea of creating a separate staff listing page.
Re: anborough in the thread. I think it would still be good to have a list of us on the main site, in case someone wants to contact one of us or something. It's harder to act as staff if people don't know who we are.
A simple list for the Junior Staff is fine; I don't think they should have descriptions like operational staff, mods or admins.
Seconding this. 17 more blurbs would probably by informational overload, at the moment.
It's be pretty useful for the staff page to be structured by teams so people know who to contact in different situations. Plus, to be frank, even I personally am not sure I know everyone who is or is not JS at the moment. A staff page would help to keep track of a lot of things.
I absolutely want this, but the trouble is, I was waiting to get time to work on it, and with my computer broke, looks like that might not happen for me soon.
But yeah, this should happen. Sounds like a Community thing. Zyn?
Darnit, Crayne was going to send you the updated Guide to Newbies! The Senior Staff tab was changed to only show names and ranks (Admin, Mod, Operational, Junior) and we were going to have a separate page entirely for the blurbs.
I'll have the other admins take a look at it and we'll see about implementing the new list.
He did send it, and I like that setup. But I'm taking about team pages here, or telling users the best people to contact for X topic.
I'd be happy to tackle that Staff page as well, working from the staff Structure page here on O5. I'm sure I can have a draft ready in a few hours.
Wait, if what they want is "team pages", could they not just be linked to the 05 team hubs and report pages? Or port those pages over to the wiki in a separate guide?
Maybe, but those are more designed for our use. Might work for both though.
