User Diernor posted the following as their 2000 contest entry:
SCP-2000 after recovery Item #: SCP-2000
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2000 is to be kept in a specially-marked weapons locker, with a ███-digit digital combination lock. It is not to be taken out except for experimentation purposes(and then only by personnel with Clearance Level 2 or greater), and great care must be taken in order to avoid accidental discharge.
Description: SCP-2000 is a black-and-silver device which superficially resembles a modern pistol in design(though its "trigger" is towards at the top of the barrel, towards the rear), and a short "barrel".
What makes SCP-2000 unique is what happens when the trigger is pulled. When the aforementioned action is performed, a blue-and-green beam of light emits from the end of the "barrel". Most objects which the beam makes contact with begin to disintegrate from the inside out, a process that takes roughly five seconds. In live test subjects, SCP-2000 is noted to elicit extreme responses, most likely a result of equally extreme pain. Due to this effect, further live testing is prohibited.
Analysis of the beam itself has shown that it is not an advanced form of laser, as was previously assumed. It is actually a focused beam of varying types of radioactive particles designed to excite the atoms of its target to the point of disintegration.
Another strange trait of SCP-2000 is its power source. It appears to be powered by a small, rechargeable cell loaded through the bottom of the grip. Further analysis of the power cell shows that it is actually a small fusion reactor. "Recharging" the cell consists of channeling the atoms of particles lower in weight than iron into the cell.
Recovery Log: SCP-2000 was discovered in a cotton farm roughly 20 miles east of [REDACTED], Georgia after rumors in the area of numerous strange disappearances, bright blue-green lights, and odd noises came to the attention of local agents. Upon investigation, agents discovered that the owner of the aforementioned cotton farm had found SCP-2000 in a box of mementos from his grandfather and proceeded to use it to eliminate "those damn nosy neighbors."
A user alerted me to the fact that the image attached to this article is of a prop used extensively in Star Trek, explained here: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Varon-T_disruptor
However, after reading the article, I see that Diernor didn't just use the prop for the Varon-T Disruptor, this article IS the Varon-T Disruptor.

Note the blue-and-green light, the fact that it's extremely painful and takes several seconds to disintegrate its target.
All this is reflected in the wiki article description linked above, though the blue and green light is seen only in the youtube video.
Some of the Diernor's comments:
Fixed all the problems addressed that I could. Furthermore, its actions itself aren't what's meant to be anomalous, it's the very fact that it exists in this timeframe when much of the technology behind it shouldn't even exist yet.
Someone said "we already have a laser gun, man. it's on the front page right now, in fact". They replied:
Ahh, but do you have a DISRUPTOR?
I am not impressed.
Advocating for summary deletion of this article, and for Diernor to be disciplined for plagiarism as deemed appropriate. Due to the level of detail used in this ripoff, it's clear it was not accidental.
