Ultimately I'm not going to push the point, mostly because this user was being kind of an idiot all day. And plus I do not speak for Sorts [or any other operator, for that matter].

So speak for yourself Moose. If you think the ban was bad say so on the merits, not on what you think I might say. There were plenty of other ops on hand who didn't see a problem so don't use this as a chance to let me know Echo wants me to smooch him on the bottom. That's kind of low.
Fair enough. Then let me clarify, as I should have done in the first place.
I didn't think the ban was bad. I felt iffy about it, and ultimately decided not to contest it. If I had come to a more useful conclusion, I'd have said so (and probably added a wall of text justifying it), as I usually do.
It seemed to me that it was ambiguous on the merits, but unambiguous in that it contradicted the way you had asked us to operate. Which concerns me from the perspective of "inconsistency is fuckin' shitty when applied to punishments". But ultimately literally zero people have piped up to agree with me, so *shrugs*. Perhaps it's not as inconsistent as it looks, and he got re-banned under another nickname anyway. So it looks like ultimately it turned out perfectly fine.
A clarification of why I clarified that I didn't speak for you: I thought the argument I made in the log was a bad one because all I did was appeal to authority - your authority, which was especially silly given context.

I can kind of see where you got that idea, but I think you've understood the dynamics wrong here.
If I wanted to let you know specifically that Echo wanted you to make out with his rear end, then I would have PMed you that specifically along with my concerns [if I had them].
Or asked Echo to PM you and say the same thing. I would bet my left testicle that he'd have been MORE than happy to relay exactly that to you, probably in even more colorful language. [He can certainly contradict me if I am incorrect here.]
It's not a secret that I disapprove of Echo's behavior on occasion, but this isn't an instance where I was trying to draw attention to it (not the ass-kissing part, anyway).
Man. This is why we should always think through our posts. Would have saved me all the time it took me to write this reply, which including a CLARIFICATION OF A CLARIFICATION :/ hopefully I do not need to write a clarification of a clarification of a clarification :(
